He wanted to teach Matt Rempe a lesson…

Matt Rempe was involved in a lot of controversy again in Game 3 of the New York Rangers Washington Capitals series that led Tom Wilson going after him. #hockey #newyorkrangers #stanleycup

  1. It is a charge and an elbow.. he left his feet and he took a line to stay hidden and catch him on the turnn around at the boards it was a dirty hit, no two waya about it.. when your up in a series like NY was it was unnecessary and a classless move..

  2. You know, with hindsight, I kind of have mixed feelings when Yinzers (entitled and obnoxious Pittsburgh fans, you know their allegiances) when they insinuate that Tom Wilson is the Myles Garrett of hockey, cause it's kind of true.
You would think "Vontaze Burfict" due to this man's penchant for injuring opponents, but you are wrong. Burfict never played for the Browns (and Yinzers love their LOL Browns jokes cause the Browns were the laughing stock of the NFL for years), while Garrett did. Garrett is a beast on the field, but people (especially Yinzers) will only remember the time he tried to clobber then-Steelers QB Mason Rudolph with a helmet (Rudolph's, actually; Garrett removed it during a scrum and swung it at him, and yes, Garrett was suspended for the whole season as a result). Like Garrett, if Wilson focuses just on his hockey play, he is a pretty good power forward, but alas, people will forever remember him for his dirty hits.

  3. Every former NHL player that is a commentater that I have seen has said that it was a clean hit and no penalty should have been called.

  4. Rempe left his feet and his elbow made contact with the head area which makes it an easy call for the ref. He has to bend his knees more, drop his body, and extend horizontally rather than vertical which makes his feet leave the ice and it will make his hits really hard to call a penalty on.
I get it tho, it's the playoffs and the idea is to punish the opponent into submission so it's not a bad penalty to take there because it deflates the other team. Gotta be more aware in the playoffs and you wont get blown up like that.

  5. Rempe out there making players regret getting comfortable going in the corners with their heads down and backs to the play. This is needed.

  6. Wilson was just mad that Rempe made a hit that should have been called as “attempted murder” 😝 LGR Rangers. Nice 🧹!!! 😬

  7. Both Rempe and Wilson wouldn't have lasted one season in the 70's and 80's. Hockey is a shell of what it used to be

  8. Caps didn't deserve to be in the playoffs; Red Wings had more wins and a WAY better goal differential. They only got in because of OT wins….or losses…..or something Gary Bettman coughed up…..or something.

  9. The guy is trying to make a name for himself with cheap hits and he is exceeding. These guys get humbled sooner or later.

  10. And in typical Rempe fashion the elbow is the first point of contact….directly to the head. This kid is laying bad hits every game and then backing away from the guy that comes to kick his ass (again). It's dangerous to valuable players and embarrassing for the Rangers. They're better that this. He's not a good checker, fighter, or player. Maybe he will improve.
