I’m not saying that I’m a coach, or know all the rules, but! If I would be on that bench, rules allowed, I’d use my timeout after Nylander scored and get them to c h i l l.

1:13:30 i wouldnt be shocked if Mitch Marner does a Ryan O'Reilly and finds his love of the game again after a trade. You can tell he knows how much this means to the fans, he either wants to be the one to give it to them or is gripping his stick too hard because of it. I think it benefits both the team and him to have him move on.
Let's remind ourselves that Golden Knights got this year as far as the Leafs -game sever of first round.
Only difference is that they have had further playoff pushes in earlier years plus Stanley C from last year. You cannot succeed every year but you have to succeed some years.
Imagine if the Leafs did what Florida did last season. Their problem was inability to score in the playoffs, 5v5 or powerplay. They traded their best point scorer for a gritty albeit skilled player, hired a coach who taught them to play playoff style games in October. It nearly backfired as they barely made it to the playoffs but when they did, they were seasoned, they were routined, everyone knew what it takes to win those type of games. It was a risk but it very nearly got them the cup. If you're a Leafs fan you should want similar risks in order to mold the team into a playoff contender. You'd want Matthews to score "only" 40-50 goals in the regular season for similar stats in the playoffs. Trade Marner (just like Huberdeau, a regular season playmaking machine but a playoff ghost) for a Tkachuk-like player and hire a coach with balls (like Paul Maurice) and you would be excited for the future.
Sorry but when are one of you three ever going to hold Matthews accountable? He disappears in every deciding game of the playoffs since he got on the team. And just look at him after losing, and he does not look upset at all. You can be happy to have a regular season star, but he is a liability in the playoffs.

The Bruins defender got the puck first on the Knies breakaway and the ref's signal after the play was a push, indicating what happened on the play. He wasn't pointing anywhere, he had his hand open.
Sammy was bad in a bunch of games, but you can't expect/demand a goalie to get a shutout in the playoffs.
I love how the "they're already dead, we're playing with house money this is great – this is so much worse for the Bruins" is gone and forgotten xD

If you move Marner keep JT. You need to re sign him for less than 5 mill and he can be a great 3C … possible he signs for much less to stay. He can no longer stay captain but still an A

Listening to this podcast from time to time. The fat curly dude is always obnoxious, but the guy in the middle and black dude are kinda cool and have good points.
Sammy is deep in the net on the goal because he has to play for a shot, a deflection and a pass to the slot. It was a weak goal but he has been bad with short side saves all series.
Think the Ref was Not pointing to a penalty shot, he was pointing to the face off circle. Come on guys, get it together.
Love Tavares to the hawks. Don't think Davidson would move off of Dickinson and Jones. Hawks have a lot of D prospects, could see them maybe packaging Tyler Johnson and a prospect or one or two of their picks
So weird seeing Marner getting the Larry Murphy treatment
