Wilson hit on Zibanejad – Have your say!

Tom Wilson laid out Mika Zibanejad in open ice. There was no call on the play, but was it late? Have your say!

  1. I gotta assume that after they called 6 minors in the 1st, NHL told them to loosen up. Only 1 minor in the 2nd, and 1 minor in the 3rd. It's just dumb to call everything one period, and barely anything the rest of the game. This is obvious interference

  2. Zibanejad just got rid of the puck. Wilson led with his shoulder and did not target the head. I'm not real enamored with the antics of Tom Wilson, but he's in the clear on this one. Zibanejad needs to keep his head up and have a little situational awareness.

I suppose Wilson could be called for the hit being borderline late, but that's such a ticky-tack call, especially in the playoffs. I would think that had the referee called that, it would have been less for the hit and more because it was Wilson.

  3. Z ran into Wilson. Tom Wilson has as much right to that space on the ice as Z.
When Wilson realized he was going to be ran into he went into protect mode and destroyed Z.
No penalty, just a hockey play.

  4. Puck leaves his stick at the 4sec mark. He is hit just before the 5sec mark. But everyone is acting like it was two full seconds late. I hate wilson as much as the next guy but this is a clean hit, especially in the playoffs. I don’t know why new hockey fans are always up in arms about every big hit. It’s sad

  5. Borderline interference at most. Zibanejad should know better than the to be reaching for the puck like that going diagonally through the neutral zone and watch the puck instead of watching where he's going (especiallly since it's pretty clear he's going for a line change). Wilson was in that space first and if anything just braces for impact.

  6. Little late thats for sure.

    Oh well.

Its playoff hockey – its a war of attrition. 💪

Ranger fan by the way 😉

  7. I am a die hard Rangers fan, anyone calling this a late hit is out of their freaking minds. You are watching this in slow motion, shoulder to chest, did not raise his elbows, contact less than a second from Z-bad making a pass. If you think this should be a penalty, it would have been for interference, AT BEST, and Z-bad set himself up for it. Second, if you are butthurt that this wasn't called, and are not screaming about Rempe's elbow on the Vessey goal, you are a hypocrite. The is a clean hit, and this is playoff hockey.

  8. A tad late and Z was vulnerable. I played hard but NEVER took advantage of another. Wilson knows what brought him to the show and his income is based on it…he will give and take living on the edge. He could play on my Team any time at all…everyone is 2" taller, 20lbs heavier and have a 3rd testical when he's in the lineup.

  9. Not a penalty. The Rempe hit in the 1st wasnt a penalty either, yet they called it. Terrible officiating the entire night.

  10. This hit and Rempe's hit are the same. Both opposing players had just gotten rid of the puck less than a second before. Both are eligible for getting hit. Both clean hits.

  11. Probably a tad late. Two minutes sometimes and sometimes not. After the call on Rempe in the first period it is a penalty. In a game where the officials let them play, it's not. Either way, Mika cannot be looking at his pass as a veteran NHL player
