We’re all going to have a nice time flinging shit at each other as we debate who should be taken with the 2OA pick in the upcoming draft, and there are real arguments for other prospects (such as Levshunov), but I think this video does an awesome job at quickly summarizing Demidov’s profile.
As you’ll watch, Demidov is a truly unique player. The potential here is insane and on top of the real impact he’s expected to have on the ice, he’s just *fun*. The thought of pairing him with Bedard on the powerplay and maybe even on the same line, or letting them run their own lines, would be a nightmare for defenses to counter while creating some real magic on the ice for us to enjoy.
Just crazy what potential there is with this guy!

I think it’s exceptionally hard to watch Demidov and not see how special he is. The Russian factor scares a lot of people, and others look at a potential top pairing Dman as worth more than “just” a winger. I get it. But Demidov is SPECIAL, and scouts agree, comparing him favorably to Michkov. If I asked you last year if you would prefer Bedard and Reinbacher or Bedard and Michkov, the overwhelming answer would be Michkov.
This is your Michkov. He may never be as good offensively, but he’s great both ways and an avid forechecker who’s grown to 6ft and has good size.
What he can do with his hands is next level. His IQ is something that cannot be taught, and he is defensively responsible and can play both wing and center when needed, extremely proficiently.
I’m so excited to share my writeup (helped by JD) with everyone. Demidov is such an exceptionally amazing prospect and has a higher offensive ceiling than Celebrini, and most scouts agree more innate talent.
I know that we as fans can’t control the odds but I really think that Demidov is far closer to Celebrini than he is to ANYONE else in this draft.

I was in a conflict with myself about who we should possibly take earlier today, but thinking about the skill of demidov going 2 and then taking one of the many great dmen in this very deep D draft at 20 or trading up for one makes it even more sweet
