I mean, it was clearly embellished. He get tapped on the shin and then launched himself down with both skates leaving the ice. It honestly should’ve been the second embellishment after Robo dove to the ice in the first to sell a high stick.

OMG!!! 1st period looked dire for the Avs. It’s been a hard few years for the Avs with injuries.
The refs have some bad calls this year, like the Knies breakaway.
the second i saw dallas ahead 3-0 i said, out loud, "they're going to blow the lead and lose in overtime"

The Avs looked sluggish during the first period, but it was somewhat expected after having a week off. But they came out period 2 and looked like themselves.
Josh Manson saved the Avs several times tonight. Or this would've been over in regulation.
5.5 goals per game against the best defensive team in the NHL and the soon to be vezina winner. That’s what teams have to keep in mind when defending against the avs.

It’s not that the Stars took the foot off the pedal it’s simply that the Avs decided to turn off cruise control and press the pedal a bit.
Dave Jackson is nothing but a word salad. As an Avs fan I agree that embellishment was BS but the 5 on 3 at the beginning of the game was straight up embellishment.

The stars embellishing was just brutal especially in that first period and it worked. Hockey gods dont like the crap nor does anyone take your L this aint soccer
3 games in Dallas this year so far…3 times Dallas has had 3 goal leads…Avs came back & won all 3…2 in OT. I knew the Avs would be rusty early,& probably lose 1st period. But 3-0 cuz of selfish penalties was bit excessive. But fatigue definitely caught up with Dallas…Heskonen got torched tonight,& Dabore playing 5 dmen is big reason why-he clearly looked fatigued.Went 7 with Vegas-now gonna play 5 dmen vs the Avs after week off-not smart. And Giorgiev saving our ass in OT might end up biggest part of this win. But it's just a great start-Stars losing game 1 at home is usual for them.
But now-WORST CASE-we will be 1-1 going back to Ball where we are 33-9-1 this yr-best home record in the NHL. Cant wait to work that game Saturday-& now all the pressure is on Dallas in game 2-despite already overcoming 2-0 defecit at home.Playing Colorado in the playoffs at altitude is even tougher than playing in Vegas,& Dallas almost went down 3-0 to Vegas…won in OT. Ya better win game 2 this time Dallas…odds very high we gonna get AT LEAST 1 at home-unlike Vegas.
I thought the embellishment call was about as weak as the call that caused it
The Avs shot themselves in the foot the first period, they practically spotted the stars three goals to start off the game. Awful defensive breakdown to give Suter a completely uncontested seeing-eye shot from the point, lost faceoff into a quick shot deflecting top corner off Makar's stick (that was more unfortunate bounces than a breakdown by the Avs), and then awful undisciplined play giving up a 5v3 that eventually sees a puck tipped in. Once they came out in the second and really started playing it felt a lot like the round one series where you could tell they had to shake off the rust off the defense but otherwise were totally capable of sticking with it. This time they just happened to get it together after one period instead of three, and also managed to pull out a win in overtime.
This playoff so far has been less competitive than I thought. In round one, there were five 4-1 series (2 of them from 3-0 lead), 2 game 7s, few OT. What we are seeing is teams are playing boring tight checking trap defence after they take a lead in the game and waiting for the opponent to make mistake or worn down. If both teams are playing trap defence, there is little chance they will make mistake. They just let the clock running down to final few minutes and try to score one goal. May be we just turn up the TV in the final period.

I think the only reason Dallas has a 3-0 lead is the week the had off!
Why does THG cheer for Dallas? I cant imagine cheering for another team an I lived in CO all my life. But a Vancouver fan cheer for Dallas? Im in the I dont have a second team person. And THG also cheers for Boston? I feel like this is hockey sacrilege. Pick your team.

I think any particular result early in a series, no matter how heartbreaking has less impact on a series than first feared.. The reason we forget this is because as the series unfolds, other stories come to the forefront and we forget ALLLL about how we let that one get away from us. I just went through this with the knicks most recently, game 5 at home, the game is WON without stupid plays, unnecessary fouls, poor decisions and suddenly they have to go to Philly for game 6. Did the Knicks fall apart? Did they decide we blew it, lets forget about it? No, they went right back and hit a cold blooded 3 late to put it away on the road in game 6.. Its always too easy to overreact, and its mostly out of anger, understandably so. This series is a long way from over.
What a game, glad my avs won but this is shaping up to be an excellent series.

Getting a 3-0 lead on the Avs is really really risky.
Time for people to be checked for short term memory loss. This core won a cup 2 years ago and was completely decimated with injuries last year. If they still healthy, good luck.

Georgie was spectacular in OT.. Imagine if he could develop some consistency. On the penalty, either call both or call nothing. It wasn’t really a hook and he flew down to the ice.. so.
It was absolutely embellishment. Either way the way the stars were playing in the 3rd probably wouldn't have mattered.
Insane game
This game is why i think an east team will win the cup, assuming they dont kill each other. Every team out west has these moments where……they just dont play. I dont know how to explain it but its like people take shifts off, and so many blown 3 goal leads. Im sure east teams had some too, but i have noticed it more from the west.
