What will Macklin Celebrini do for Sharks rebuild? | Jay on SC

The Sharks won the NHL Draft Lottery on Tuesday and earned the right to have the No. 1 pick in the NHL Draft for the first time in franchise history. What will Macklin Celebrini do for the Sharks rebuild? What has impressed you with Tij Iginla’s game the last seven months? Who do you think the Canadiens will target at No. 5 overall? Who do you think the Senators target at No. 7 overall? What about the Flames at No. 9 overall? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins Jay Onrait to answer all these questions and more!

  1. Celebrini seems like the kind of player who can handle being on a bad team since most accounts have him as a natural leader. There's not much individually he has to prove as a player, the talent is enough. But for me, it depends how many Sharks prospects actually have a shot of making their roster this year.

Smith, it'll come down to his WC performance with the USA, but his defensive game is an issue for now. Halttunen and Musty are probably a year off. Bystedt, Mukhamadullin, Cagnoni, Thompson, Edstrom, and Thrun are fighting for roster spots as well. San Jose has until August 31st to figure out their situation with Celebrini and Smith, so they can be a little patient.

  2. Macklin, Smith, Eklund, Zetterlund, Musty, Couture & Granlund are 7 forwards that could make our top 9 fun to watch next season. The Sharks will score goals next season, our defense is just the weak link since we really just have a bunch of middle/bottom pairing defenseman
