Fuck no. For only one year of control? Maybe if we were a piece away from building a Cup Contender, but we’re nowhere near that.
whatscoochie
he denied an offer sheet with us back in the day didn’t he?
elsombroblanco
Y’all are too hooked on our propspects. We have more prospects than we can pay/give playing time too for the next several years.
Mitch is an established star in the league. I’ve had to watch this sub say we didn’t wont Elias Lindholm, Elias Petterrson and now Mitch Marner while we have sat at the bottom of the league.
These guys are already playing at a level above most of our prospects ceilings. Stop thinking that we are going to magically develop prospects into superstars.

Fucking no. Let’s get some winners, not other people’s bad contracts.
Marner is the poster child for running up stats all season long then being completely useless when the games get tight.
No.

My initial reaction would be Yes. Trade two unknowns into a 95+ point guy. Marner-Fantilli-Gaudreau would be disgusting. But man, do the Jackets need to figure out where things stand with Laine.

LeafsNet at it again with the braindead takes.

Not with that dad problem of his. Could you imagine that buffoon starting shit around here all the time. God no.

I will completely give up on the franchise if we think Marner is gonna be the thing that rights the ship.
Fabresque_
If he had 4-5 years on his contract, sure maybe.
But he only has one year left. If we were a bubble team that was a few pieces away, I’d say do it, but we’re not. We won’t be contending next season, so let’s just stay away and stand pat, don’t sign any big stars.

I want a line with 2 Nylanders. Tell Toronto we’ll help them out by taking William.

What does our GM think??? 🤡

Marner would instantly be one of the best players we’ve ever had. People not wanting him is insane. Dude routinely does numbers no one here ever has
DoubleDumpsterFire
Laine Johnny and Marner would be stupid. Not good stupid, bad stupid.
thelordcommanderKG
Unless he’s taking a team friendly contract, no.
coyscbj
I really like the player, but he has in the past A) rejected an offer sheet from us and B) scoffed (on stream) at the idea of having the bubble tournament in Columbus presumably due to lack of amenities/“boring”. So even before we talk trade return, it’s probably dead in the water. He has a NMC so he’s going to get the final say
For fun, even if he did want to come, I’d be hoping to find a way to do it without 4 overall. KJ – and most other prospects – are on the table. Obviously any trade comes with an extension
Archangel612
Oh look, another trade that we’re linked to a deal where we take on one of the league’s darlings’ bad contracts and give up good capital in the process. I think I’ll pass.

For the love of god. For the love of GOD. No.
NuclearBuns
I’d do it. A Gaudreau-Fantili-Marner line would be pretty darn entertaining.
I’m not a huge believer in KJ and I think with such a deep prospect pool, it makes sense to use a pick for a proven player.
We don’t really need KJ, Johnny, and Dumais, so I think this trade makes sense.

No thanks.
Huh, they misspelled Matthews.
Per article: 4OA and Kent Johnson for Marner

Johnny, Laine, and Marner. What could go wrong
