  1. Packers very smart on this contract, I cant believe Jacobs is signing this to be honest. no guarantee's past the first season seems really risky.

  2. Lol the fact these guys try to shame packers organization for not doing guaranteed contracts lol IDIOTIC! Why would you want to as an organization lol? What a terrible take. We call that a smart contract in the nfl lol

  3. Leave it to a Packer-hating host talking about FA shortcomings of the Packers after a day when GB lands two of the best players at their position two hours into FA.

  4. I think GB is doing just fine fielding a competitive team without guaranteeing player contracts. Seems like empty criticism to me.

  5. It's likely a 2 year deal. $14.8m year one. $8.2m year two. That's cash not cap hit but year one would have to be a disaster to not bring him back for the lesser amount year two.

  6. The running wont be a problem at all its the receiving part jones was 1 of the best 2 way threats in the league .

  7. “GB only guarantees money in the first year.” – Andrew Brandt

    I think it makes sense.

  8. First thing he has to prove is he can stay healthy. He was injured a lot.First cold games he will break or tear something. Can be great when healthy.

  9. No this is the problem with the press this is a business that needs to be more like Al Davis just win baby I appreciate your time with the team but we're moving on

  10. If the general mess gudicants would have got rid of Rogers and bhaktiari 2 years earlier to Denver they'd be Super Bowl champions by now he's a d-bag

  11. Why did it need to end aaron jones what did he do wrong play football and fight through injuries i mean the dude was a difference maker but ok whatever your smoking i guess idk hes gonna be missed

  12. jacobs is going to be the jacobs from 2 years ago. it's understandable why he didn't have the best season last yr. raiders stunk and they treated him like garbage

  13. Shoulda paid both backs nine million, and had them both.
Split touches, and keep them both fresh.
    Careers last longer that way.
    Fresher legs for the playoffs.

  14. I swear Chris Simms is the worst bro. Josh Jacob’s is a dog he plays hurt he is a great teammate him coming in out of shape last year was due to a holdout which he should’ve done I just won the rushing title and you don’t want to pay me. And Chris says he was in Josh McDaniels dog house GTFOH the whole team was in the Josh dog house because they didn’t believe in him and didn’t want to but they still went out there and Josh went out there and balled out. No thanks to McDaniels. And to compare his reputation to Saquon’s is crazy Josh has played 1 less year yet he has more Yards, more TD’s, more Att. And the same Avg. good pick up GB I have no problem wit the contract because Josh signed it because he does like to bet on hisself.

  15. As an Eagles die-hard, I think Saquon has more to prove. You’re getting the shot you want. Prove everyone wrong.

  16. So they need to break the trend they have even though it has not adversly effected them yet? They got arguably the best safety in this free agency class and a top 3 RB of this free agency class. Why would they have to break this trend when it still hasn't cost them a top free agent yet? Maybe if they start losing out on these guys and they are intentionally not coming to Green Bay because of the the lack of money up front then they will change their philosophy, but until then if it gives them more financial flexibility to get other players and not tie so much money up front then they're allowed to do it. The market will speak on it eventually.

  17. Florio is the dumbest pro talker around the NFL. The Packers dont guarantee contracts because thats how teams like the falcons are going to be in cap hell in a few years giving kirk 100m guaranteed

  18. After couple of days of contemplating now here are my feelings about FA & losing A Jones.

Certainly see why the Packers would walk away from Aaron Jones due to cap hit of 17.5M.

Gutey it's always all business all the time. If you are 30+ with a big salary & cap hit your gone.

Preston Smith your next at the end of 2024 you can bank on it based on Gutey's history.

Also see the issues people have with his age of 30 years old & his durability issues in 2023.

But remember the last 5 games of last season he went 100+ & was key in the playoff run.

When healthy Aaron Jones to me is as good if not better than any other running back in NFL.

He proved his loyalty to GB taking a hometown discount of 5 million last season's contract.

Why not find a solid 2nd RB to play with Aaron Jones for me would've made allot more sense.

This team had the money to work out a deal with Aaron Jones had they really been sincere.

A man who gave his heart & soul to this team. Who was their best player on offense in GB.

I'm sure Jones would of bent to get resigned with the Packers had he been offered a fair deal.

Instead the Packers low balled him. Gute had his mind made up from the word go it seems.

Now let me get to Josh Jacobs. 12.5 million for a player very much underperformed in 2023.

Seems to me to be much too much for an underachiever. I sure hope my assessment is wrong.

That said Gute front loaded the deal & Josh Jacobs bet on himself taking the big number.

However took less guaranteed money in deal. Gute left room to cut him if he doesn't perform.

There were other candidates they could have also considered. Austin Eckler for example.

Many are very optimistic that Jacobs will regain his pro bowl form of two seasons ago.

I sure hope they are right. At 26 he has age on his side. He is a back can take allot of carries.

But does he possess the intangibles Aaron Jones had? Does he have the magic to do it all?

This move is hard for me to stomach. If Jacobs is a bust I will be very critical of Gutekunst.

Other than losing Jones & signing Jacobs we all have to be ecstatic with all the other moves.

The top of the chart was to chase & sign Xavier McKinney. Although they paid big for him.

Roughly 17 million a season on a 4 year deal. He was the most coveted safety out there.

At 24 years old we have to be excited at all he can bring this team in the next 4 years.

2 major free agency signings for a team notoriously conservative in FA was sweet to see.

I still give GB & Gutey an A for being aggressive & making too major moves in free agency.

Seeing Darnell Savage sign elsewhere is good news for both him & the Packers.

5 years underachieving & inconsistency as a highly touted Gute 1st rounder was enough!

For me the worse in space open field tackler I ever seen in this Green Bay secondary.

I was absolutely stunned to see the NYG give Jon Runyan Jr a 3 year 30 million dollar deal!

17 million of that guaranteed no less. Glad he will be their problem now & not the Packers.

That said Sean Rhyan certainly doesn't look like the long term answer at Right Guard.

RG a position GB need to target very high in the 2024 draft to solidify this O line in 2024.

I was disappointed to see them let Jonathan Owens go but it was not a surprise either.

David Bakhtiari & Devondre Campbell great in their primes no brainers big contracts & cap hits.

Seeing GB resign Preston Smith & Tyler Davis were 2 of the best moves they could make!

I still believe 6 million a season for Nixon is too much to pay an underachieving CB & KR.

Corey Balentine was a cheap resign & he earned a contract with his stellar play in 2023.

He can be plugged in to help this secondary. I would like to see Rudy Ford resigned too.

Talk of pursuing a new contract with ILB Eric Wilson good news. Good off the bench.

He's also very good on teams. Bringing him, Balentine & Davis back big help for weak teams.

Can someone tell how in the name of God that scrub Royce Newman hasn't been cut yet?

Packers will gain 3 million in cap space once that scrub has been cut. WTF they waiting for?

    Go Pack Go!

  19. I can't see why the Raiders couldn't have given him this contract. Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah are backups at best. Jacobs was the heart and soul of the Raiders offense since he came in to the league. I would fully expect the Raiders to draft a RB as well trade away Adams and rebuild for at least a year. No QB + no RB = no offense. No way they can bring in anyone to jumpstart it in less than a years time. I can't comprehend what Telesco and Pierce are thinking right now. They're probably panicking while trying to figure out how they're going to put up any points in 2024.

  20. They don’t guarantee salaries puts them at a disadvantage? Aren’t they the winningest team in the history of the league?
