What Cap Gymnastics Can the Golden Knights Pull off This Summer? (TheHockeyGuy)

Shannon seems to have drank some hateraid with that title, and on top of that, some of his takes are… lousy. What are your thoughts on his analysis of our off-season ahead, which I will admit is gonna be an interesting one to say the least?

CONTEXT: One take of his I zeroed in on as a lousy one is of the Hertl contract being terrible, which I think is way irresponsible to say with such a small sample size to go off of. No, he wasn’t great for us in the playoffs, but mind you, that was 7 extremely tough games out of 11 GRAND TOTAL games that he has played for Vegas since returning from his prolonged injury absence. To say Hertl was fighting an uphill battle to be a difference maker in that situation would be greatly understating things.

If next season, he’s healthy, but doesn’t play well, then yes, it’s an awful contract, but there’s still a LONG ways to go before we can actually tell if this is a good trade or not for Vegas.

I haven’t watched the video, just my own opinion after checking on the Capfriendly Armchair GM. It’s looking like we should be expecting a trade of at least one of the defensemen we got. There’s currently 8 D (Hanifin, Pietrangelo, Theodore, McNabb, Whitecloud, Hague, Hutton, and Korczak) that could all be full time players.

Hutton and Hanifin are unlikely to be moved since they signed their extensions. Pietrangelo has a full Nmc that he won’t waive. Korczak is young and likely cheap. That leaves Theodore, Hague, Whitecloud, McNabb.

I also have to wonder if the team might keep an eye out for a “spark plug” type player after how lifeless this team was through long stretches of this year. I think that moving Howden and Kolesar plus one of the D should leave enough room to resign Marchy on a team friendly deal and someone like Domi, who has been fantastic for the Leafs this year.

Eh, everyone’s entitled to their own opinions. But I’ll always like Shannon.
He’s always been a big proponent of Vegas hockey.
You can talk some shit about a team without being a jerk about it, and that’s what he does all the time about everyone.

How about not getting injured this upcoming season? If we have a healthy strong team then lights out for everyone else.
