  1. People need to go watch Alex’s first mma fight in 2015. People can see the rnc loss and just call it a kick boxer not preparing correctly. But Alex grappled more in that fight than any of his mma fights, he had the guy in a couple close arm bars, escaped subs himself. Yeah he got subbed but he looked like at least a blue belt in 2015. So if he showed up to glover in 2020 with a purple or brown belt, not as weird he is getting a black belt in 2024.

  2. Getting a black belt sooner just because you are heavier makes absolutely no sense. By this logic a sumo wrestler would get it in no time

  3. I think you might be wrong on this one, that's actually a very stupid thought to have. I hope you're okay and I don't know if you're serious about that. im a little worried for you

  4. That makes no sense dumbass and isn’t how bjj works. They gave it to Alex for marketing, like most gyms do, and DJ’s coach is waiting longer because he is a real coach who holds him to a very high standard

  5. He’s also very much Brazilian…you get special treatment in BJJ if you’re lucky enough to be that

  6. There are a lot of people with black belts that haven’t needed to show their skills in an actual fight

  7. lets see any good grapplers try and take his belt from him lol. if they cant submit him then or he knocks them out regardless then id say he gets to keep it

  8. Size doesn't mean you get your black belt faster it's usually time in the gym training an dedication its actually up to the trainer and all trainers are different

  9. If size is a factor then that would totally negate the point that BJJ is for the small guys. Also if DJ was Alex’s size he’d still be a more well rounded fighter
