Patrick Roy & Lou Lamoriello reflect on Islanders loss to Carolina, will return next season | SNY

Islanders coach Patrick Roy and GM Lou Lamoriello met the media as the team broke for the summer after their playoff loss to Carolina. Lamoriello was encouraged by the team’s performance when Roy took over behind the bench but knows there is much work to be done. He praised his coach for navigating a very difficult mid-season transition and Roy in turn appreciated Lamoriello for giving him the opportunity to be an NHL coach again.

  1. Excited? Are you serious, for what? Bridgeport is garbage, no prospects. We are so old this team has enough gas for only half a game.

  2. Great Lou’s coming back! If this old bastard brings this roster back next year I’m gonna have a life to do for 82 days because I ain’t watching this garbage.

  3. Yay more over 35 yr old players with 10 yr. contracts, traded away draft pics, backing into the playoffs.

  4. Only way Lou gets the fan base back on his side is if he stops being the stubborn old man and make some drastic changes. He treats the team like himself. – makes desperate moves for the moment not for the future probably because he is old and desperate

  5. Islanders are the “almost” they almost beat Tampa, they almost beat Carolina, they almost signed some players. I almost can’t wait for next season
