A beautiful defensive effort by the Stars, they controlled the boards and kept the Avs to the outside, even though Jamie Benn does not score like he did earlier in his career, he demonstrated why he is still valuable on a roster. If they can play like this in two more games, they win the series…..simple.š

I honestly think that was one of our best games of these playoffs thus far. Just absolutely smothered Colorado in the end. Hopefully we can bring that game into Game 4 and try to take both on the road! GO STARS!

I kept telling my wife the same thing. I wasn't worried about this game at all. It's the exact kind of game that the Stars own. LFG.
There is a big difference between playing Colorado and playing Vegas. Even after Dallas lost game 1, I felt like this was going to be a much easier series than the Vegas series. Colorado doesn't play that suffocating style like Vegas did. Dallas seems to have much more room on the ice in this series. This series is far from over, but if Dallas plays their game and not get complacent, they should win this series
The line with Steele was fantastic . They played great with the lead in the 3rd I was very impressed .
I was waiting for a the big Avs comeback that always happens but it just never did. Good job Dallas. That's how you shut a team down. The Kings would be jealous

Dallas needed this win to prove that they can close out a game and they did. Game 4 is a must win for Colorado or else they are in trouble.
The deeper the series goes, the more the Stars adjust and improve. I agree that a 1 goal lead tonight felt more secure than the previous 3-0 and 4-0 leads because the Stars were really locked in on the board battles and puck support. They've been good at that all series but tonight they were also pressuring the Avs top players well and not giving them room to create. Oh, and Otter was rock solid. We held the Avs to 1 goal on their home ice, that's huge.

If Vancouver and Dallas played each other, and let's say the series got really really dirty… would Shannon get so pissed off that he might give up his fandom for 1 of these teams? Let's say dallas injures Pettersson and Hughes but loses the series for example. Would that be friends off?

Dallas wasn't having none of that nonsense.
It wasn't a sound win because you cannot start slow in a playoff game and lacking shots really limits your offense.
Dallas has struggled offensively the last month IDK why Pavelski maybe is feeling his age Robertson was not firing on all cylinders all year so they have relied more on the youngster Wyatt.
They NEED to find more consistent offense more shots and less messing around in their own end because turnovers versus Colo is a bad thing.Personally I thought the TIMING was great for Dallas get that offensive slump over with right before the playoffs then get back on a role but it has not happened …yet.There is a lot of offense this year from teams like NYR/EDM and this matchup versus COLO so for Dallas to win the cup they NEED more offensive consistency.
