Too bad but they need the money to pay soupy and to be under the cap. I would like to see kerfoot traded and add a tough 4th liner like Matt Martin
I like this trade ( as a leafs fan ) because he was being paid 3.4 mill per year to be a third line winger, it also keeps us under the cap so thatβs nice

As a Devils fan in past offseasons it is frustrating to see teams make moves while NJ remains stagnant. 1st the acquisition of Ryan Murray. Then Friday came and pretty much all day nothing happened until the 11th hour Fitz brought over Crawford, and now another day passes and in comes Johnsson. Fitz and the Devils had a plan in place and thus far they have been sticking to it. Really happy with this trade.

Hate to see Johnsson go but had to do it because he was overpaid by 1M as is Dubas' standard for RFA signings. He still has plenty of 20-30 goal seasons ahead of him.
im a devils fan, love the trade for both teams this will help both teams in the long run, devils get much needed depth on the winger position and the leafs get a 22 year old former ntdp captain who will be a very good bottom 6 forward for them for years to come , as well as free up cap space.
Very good trade for NJ. Smart move by Toronto to clear cap space. Joey Anderson is only 22 i can see him being a very effective bottom 6 player chipping in 30-40 points every year when he develops
