Reviewing Stars vs Avalanche Game Four

Well, Dallas is ahead and the Avs look like their heart just isn’t in it minus two key players.

  1. Present company excepted, the Stars just don't get the kind of publicity they deserve. They have unmatched depth up front and Ottenger is playing as well as any goalie in the post season. Go Stars! The NHL needs to get serious about putting a team in Houston. The rivalry would be great for the game and its HUGE market, like 6 million people in the metro area.

  2. Avs looked mentally checked out all game. Dallas has worn them out and all the off ice stuff doesn't help either. This should end in 5. Usually blame Georgiev cuz he's cheeks, but tonight wasn't on him. That 3rd goal was brutal but he had no help all game.

  3. Johnston is special. His poise is like that of a 10 year vet. Stars got a steal with that one

  4. This Stars team is starting to make me a bit of a fan. I had them beating Vegas and it looks like I might have them beating Colorado too.
To be completely honest, I don't see them having much issue with either Vancouver or Edmonton either.

  5. As a wild fan . Im going to have to say to you Dallas fans, get ready to hoist that cup . You guys are good. Go wild !

  6. Most people were picking Colorado to win at the start of the series. I know it isn't over yet, but I had a feeling Dallas would take it because I think people were understating just how badly Winnipeg choked

  7. I hope val gets all the help he needs, but he probably won't play another game in a colorado jersey. Only Georgie came to play tn. Generally, hes been great all playoffs. Rante has been largely invisible all playoffs. Everyone looked pathetic tonight. I'll give the stars all the credit, they are a really great team and could win the cup, but damn sucks to be an avs fan tn. Uhhh, go avs go?

  8. Heck yeah😊. Thats the Stars i wanna see, when your opponents are down never take the foot of their neck. After those 1st 2 games they've had their wake up call.

  9. It's Denver, man! Those fans are so drunk by the end of the 2nd period that they boo their own mothers… 😃…And that's just the Boy Scout troop up in the 372 section…No, the Avs aren't completely out of it by any means, but it does seem that all the lugnuts are loose. I didn't get to see this game – only the Sportsnet highlights – but throughout I don't think I heard MacKinnon's name once escape Steve Levy's lips. Or Makar for that matter. The fling around passing didn't seem to be there, and Dallas was taking advantage of the fact that the Avs were so focused on making hits that they forgot there was a puck involved…It really helps the Dallas cause when Oettinger can qualify for an unemployment check…So, Shannon…If, God forbid, Boston manages to advance, you stand to hit the trifecta buddy!… 😃

  10. That series isnt over. The avs lost 2 solid pieces but this sport isnt player on paper. Hope dallas closes it up at home

  11. Ok Shannon, I've been watching your channel for about 3 months or so and I have been impressed with your even handed comments, even when you had to watch one of your teams lose. But you lost me tonight, really don't think you needed to whine about the announcers, Levy and Callahan were praising Dallas the whole damn game. Yes, Hextall asked dumb questions but she talked to Stars staff at least three times. All she could be bothered with the Avs is Bednar's hair??? So the announcers are always going to say dumb things but they were Dallas boosters tonight. I would point out that perhaps Hextall asked the Dallas assistant about Nichuskin since he played for Dallas? It was hanging in the air the whole night, so of course she found a way to inject it into the conversation (which I don't agree with either) but I think you had a weird take on that as well.

Maybe the Avs were rattled by the news about Nichuskin and Toews? Did you even need to say that? Of course they were upset, especially since they only got the news an hour before the game started. Expecting them to act as if it was nothing is pretty ridiculous. It was just lousy timing and not what they needed to hear. I can't fault them for being rattled but hoped they could overcome it, but that was not meant to be.

I get you are happy your team is doing well but I thought you might refrain from rubbing it in so much. 😟

  12. My first comment has disappeared but I will still say it – this Colorado team would definitely reach the final under a proper coach.

  13. I don't know if the announcers saying that Colorado can come back and win when it's 3-1 and they are a team that has made up multiple goal deficits in minutes multiple times during the season is really them rooting for Colorado to come back, kind of just stating a not terribly unlikely scenario that could happen. Also as a neutral observer, I think Colorado at least forces game 7, I don't know they are just too good and seems to be how the playoffs go.

  14. Dallas didn’t beat the avs this game the avs just didn’t show up it’s sad man I know we have an amazing team we should have atleast one more cup with this team it just hurts you know we start off looking great like we could win another cup and I think if nichushkin and toews were in this game I think we would have one but man losing both of them the avs team just said fuck it

  15. Interesting stat. Game 3 was the first time in over 800 days that Dallas played in ball arena and was not on a back 2 back. Every one of those games the avs had at least one day of rest.

  16. Yeah, that was painful to watch. It felt like I was watching an entirely different team play the Stars wearing the Avs' kit. I know Val was the leading scorer in these playoffs, but like Bednar said, there's twenty-plus other guys there who supposedly are all-in. They didn't feel all-in tonight, coach. I've had friends go through this kind of thing before. It rocks you. But the guys have to pull it together and at least give Dallas a run for their money or they're hitting the golf course way too early again this year. Get it together, Avs.

  17. Heiskanen leads the Stars in scoring with 12 points in 11 games. Reminiscent to the 2020 finals run when he got 25(?) points and lead the team, was a surefire Conn Smythe winner then had the Stars won, but this year it would surely be Johnston. Both playing out of their minds.

  18. Leah Hextall also asked Peter Deboer what he was hoping for from their power play and his answer was to score a goal. I’m honestly curious as to what she thought the answer would be.
