If that's a call in the playoffs than every team would have 30 power plays a game. it's big boy time. Zadonov and Patterson better stop diving and rather stsrt playing big boy hockey or they are out in 5
There was NO call because Kelly Sutherland was the referee, if the hit had been reversed Petterson would have had 2, 5, 10, a game, and the department of player safety would have suspended him for at least 5 games…. absolute B.S sanctioned 100% by Gary "The Count" Bettman… Game 3 in Edmonton Nurse and Kane NEED to be dealt with immediately… it's amazing what the loss of a few teeth and a butt end to the sternum will tell a dirty hitter.
He's playing the back along the boards and gets slammed head first from two feet from the boards. Literally the definition of boarding, and the type of hit the NHL has been trying to eliminate from the game for years now with big consequences. Yet when it happens to Vancouver in the playoffs, NHL couldn't care less. Same with high stick that draws blood, directly in front of the ref. That's no questions asked 4 minute penalty every single time, but not against the Canucks in the playoffs. Or slew footing Hughes and pushing him to go sliding into the boards at high speed, another dangerous play that would typically be a penalty and possibly further repercussions, except against the Canucks in the playoffs. Yet if a Canuck gives McDavid a shove just after the puck has passed him, a scenario that literally happens to almost every player one or more times on every shift, that's an interference penalty in a fast paced playoff hockey game.
It's sure not the reason the Canucks lost, they can blame themselves and their atrocious third period for that, but the officiating in this game was just awful and hopefully that is brought to attention and recognized by the media and league. It needs to be better.
How is that not a penalty? Possibly a major penalty. Nurse is a hack. Can’t skate. He’s the Oilers version of Ian Cole. Only he doesn’t score on his own team.
Thank god you posted this prime example of a dangerous no call embellishment play that Pettersson keeps getting away with. I wouldn't be surprised if the league refuses to comment on #40's disgusting behaviour
It wasnt from behind, and it wasnt violent or execcesively forcefull, which is typically required for a boarding call. Either Nurse is the strongest person in the world, or EP didnt protect himself, brace himself, or have any situational awareness.
Everyone says it's a hit from behind. You see can see his numbers the whole time. Everyone says it's dirty. It's a clean hit from the side. Pettersson just doesn't absorb the hit and his left skate picks into the ice making him go awkwardly into the board. He probably wasn't expect 220lbs to ram him into the boards like that. No call. Clean hit. Next.
Seems black and white to me. Pettersson is skating east/west behind the net parallel to the boards, his skates are both also parallel to the boards, Nurse comes from directly in front of the net and hits Pettersson on the side. What's the infraction here? Petey twisted himself and looked bad going into the boards, but it's not a hit from behind in any way, Petey is just light on his feet.

I guess that’s what you do when you lack talent.

Refs must have their marching orders.
Ahahahahah who needs Oilers too score… Canucks scoring on their own goalie ahahahah.
Clown of a team ahahahahaha. Winning my a s s.
Oilers r going to put the Canucks into rebuild mode like they did with with the flames. Ahahahah.
Looks like a playoff hit to me…
Edmonton in 5
How do you not call this stuff? Thus and the Kane slew foot. It’s a joke.
Just out of curiosity what was wrong with the hit? Shoulder to shoulder to a guy with the puck? I don’t see the problem

Luckily Nurse in the house

Why would they call one on the Oilers now, they didn't against the Kings…
Boo hoo canucks fans! after game one u were all balls now your all crying! SUCK it up losers!
He embellished that lol. He literally folded like a chair. Watched it 10 times and it’s clearly shoulder on shoulder
Rigged from puck drop!
So this is definitely a suspension if the nhl decides to not be clowns and these refs are kicked out of the league as well.

Remember when zadorov got a penalty for the same hit

Strong man vs pussy cat
How does no one from the Canucks respond to that?
Nurse is not a good player….
A shoulder on shoulder with a guy who famously doesnt know how to protect himself.
The Refs are a joke the NHL is a joke
Petterson is a cream puff .
That's messed up.

COPE
They put themselves in that position to draw a penalty, sheesh stay on your feet Pedosson.
Nurse gets away, McDavid high stick, refs should be tested before games, certainly something wrong with them
Dang in a playoffs with the rangers, bruins, and panthers. You couldn’t have convinced me that the oilers would be the dirtiest of them all

He got revenge on the dirty Canucks for the after goal ankle slash on Mcdavid….that was an atrocious non call.
Soft little Petey positioning himself to get blown up
Welcome to the playoffs Perimeter Pete
Looked OK to me.
Jesus dude these 2 games tonight have been atrocious from these referees

Nurse is grabbing him as he’s going down to bring his head up, that’s on Petey tbh
