It’s gotta feel wild getting praised by people you idolized growing up or even ones you hated as a kid. Obviously you don’t hate them, they didn’t brain some dude into the boards during the finals or anything, but guys who scored a goal in the playoffs that eliminated your team, so you hate them for that, but that’s it. It’s gotta just blow your mind to have them go, look at this dude, he’s awesome. And that awesome dude is you.
It was weird when chelios came over to Detroit but he became a fan favorite. It was funny when Kane suited up too.. but he's already a fan favorite. Hopefully he sticks around in detroit, but chicago… he'll always be one of yours. That will never change.

Eh, Kane was a stud and clutch in the playoffs. But Auston Mathhews has already surpassed him as the best American born player. The dude is on a better goal scoring pace than Ovechkin through 562 games. I'm saying this as a Bruins fan too who hates the Leafs and dislikes Mathhews. I know everyone hates on the dude but he's better than Kane.
