Dude covered up sexual assault. He should never be allowed to coach. His daughter makes a lot of posts about cancel culture so clearly is a brainwashed rightwing bigot.

  2. This tweet is apart of a chain of tweets that relates to Joel Quenneville. I found it interesting so that’s the reason for posting. There are a couple in particular that were noteworthy.

    >It is baffling to me that after three years the same false perception is out there. My dad was in one single meeting for 5-10 minutes after a playoff game where he was told by his bosses they were looking into a matter that didn’t at all resemble sexual assault.

    >And no my dad did not ever write a letter of recommendation for the video coach, that is just another blatant false perception I’m tired of seeing.

  3. LOL. Too bad the only “blessing” he needs is Gary’s and like En Vogue said “you aint never gonna get it”

  4. Look, what he did was wrong. What many of those in that organization did, was wrong.

Of course his daughter will defend him. Why should I or anyone else think “oh this clears him then!”?

No thank you. There are better options out there anyway. Shut this down and let some other team bring someone in who *at best* turned a blind eye to sexual assault and at worst covered for and endorsed the person who committed this crime.

If what he said is the truth, and he was not made fully aware of the seriousness and the issue was dealt with at a higher level then he should be allowed to coach.

If the leafs hire him I’ll assume they investigated and found he’s told the truth about his diminished level of involvement and is genuine about his remorse for everything that happened. In which case it’s fine and we will have gotten a significant improvement at coach.

  6. He’s made his millions. He made his choice, now he can watch from the couch in his mansion. Stay away from the game and any position of power. His decision making is already bad.

Let’s avoid another Babcock. He learned his lesson too, and didn’t even make it until preseason before he was back to his old ways. Maybe he won’t cover up another sexual assault, but he made the wrong choice, and said nothing for 10 years until it came out. He can come back in 10 years.

Okay I’m on the Quenneville train now.

This whole incident is the epitome of the covid era massive psychosis that was going on. Nobody actually read the independent investigation nobody cared to try and discern what actually happened based on the available evidence. The story that was accepted was a guy got head from another guy and didn’t want it yet came, and then sued a decade later and was the victim. Fine. But not even close to the only logical conclusion of what happened. And Joel paid a shockingly steep price.

    GMBT checklist

    – Hire Quenneville

    – Sign Kessel

    – Sign Grabovski

The only source I can find about Kyle giving his blessing is from Anna Quenneville. Considering her likes on Twitter, I’m not inclined to take her as a legitimate source.

There’s a reason why chevaldayoff did not get forced out by the league and quenneville did.

    Yeah fuck that.

In the very, very, best case scenario, he’s a huge distraction.

On Real Kyper & Bourne last week, Elliotte Friedman said the league is nowhere close to discussing any reinstatement for Quenneville or Bowman.

That should tell you a lot more than Q’s daughter & a couple media personalities carrying water for the man.

Bettman probably has a lot more details than the social media crowd.

I feel like if that was truly the case he wouldn’t have been fired from Florida in the first place/we would’ve heard about it by now from a source that isn’t his daughter 🤷 Westhead in particular was pretty tapped into the situation and communicated with Kyle a decent amount, I feel like he’d have knowledge of this/would’ve made it public by now if Kyle truly gave Q his blessing considering Q hasn’t been around explicitly *because* of this situation. It would be cool if it’s true but I’m not taking her word for it as anything.

I want this to be true, not only because Q was a good coach but because if Kyle actually did give him his blessing then the negative things about Q may not be true (and therefore that’s one less dickhead in the sport.) But there’s a lot of things I want to be true doesn’t necessarily mean they are. We’ll see what comes of this.

Its two separate arguments. Should he coach again and should he coach the Leafs.
In baseball Trevor Bauer had charges dropped and was reinstated, yet no team will sign him.
Quenneville will be a PR nightmare and all Toronto teams dont like PR nightmares.
Berube is the safer choice. Ex Leaf, cup champ.

If we’re being honest about this, approximately 150 % of those wanting Coach Q as the option for the are either personally connected to him or want him here not because they think it’ll be good, but specifically because it will upset the people that they don’t like. Steve Simmons and most of the commentators on this thread make up the latter.

Not how it works bucko. You have to wait for hockey twitter to un-cancel you

Let’s hypothetically say he didn’t know. THAT MAKES IT WORSE. He didn’t know one of HIS players was being assaulted by HIS video coach. Either he is lying or he is willfully ignorant. Especially if the players knew. It was an open secret. He wanted to win more than protect his players. He wanted the fame and cash. Same thing happens in Hollywood all the time. Turn a blind eye to Harvey Weinstein because the cash is coming in.

Fuck Quenneville and the rest of the organization. Hope he never coaches again.
