If Artyom Levshunov is the pick at 2nd overall, would the Hawks consider moving up a few spots from #20 to get Trevor Connelly?

From everything I’ve read, Connelly is a top 10 talent at F, but some off-ice issues and a terrible penalty in the gold medal game have his stock way down. If he just grows up some and stops being a prick teenager, he could be an absolute beast.

Not a chance. He’s got enough of a history of being an asshole that the Hawks likely have him scratched off their list completely.

  2. I’m willing to bet my left nut that the hawks will not even be trying to move up

  3. With the Hawks plethora of off ice issues I don’t imagine they would have him on their board at all

I’m guessing they use that second 1st and perhaps more draft capital for a young vet with a contract needing to be moved. The way Bedard is playing in this current tournament with established vets screams for this. No need for more pre teens!

Stay at 20 and grab 1 of Hage, Chernyshov, Basha, or Hemming. If someone starts to fall like a Catton, Eiserman, Helenius then trade up for them

“If he grows up some and stops being a prick.” You nailed it. Look at his parents comments in The Athletic article — they’ve enabled his behavior and that doesn’t bode well for future growth and accountability. We’ve got a nice core forming with good personalities. Why risk that by adding Connelly to the mix?
