Why do Oilers fans insist that Stetcher should play? You really think he would do well in a series where the canucks are bodychecking in the forecheck heavily?
It appears as though someone told the team (Oilers) simply not to show up starting the second period. Just stand around and watch the Canucks do their thing. Hyman has been totally missing in action over the last few games it seems.
Here's what I suspect would happen as an Oilers fan: Vancouver will somehow pull it through and win the series and then totally tank the next series against Dallas.
Ouch. That one was a stinker. Oilers seem to like the feeling of losing. Vancouver is terrified of that feeling. Maybe McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard or Hyman should be texting Knoblauch and apologizing for losing that game. This is all about heart and hunger. Vancouver has it Edmonton doesn't. Edmonton sure has a beautiful golf course in the River Valley…why make that beautiful piece of property go to waste in May. The Oilers need to decdie if they'd rather spend their May on grass or on ice. Congratulations to Pickard. What an outstanding performance. This game would have been a mirror image of game one in the regular season if wasn't for Pickard. Calvin 100% deserves to play Game 6 which I'm 99.9% sure he will. If Knoblauch puts Skinner in for Game 6 and Skinner loses that's just flat out career suicide. No coach will ever trust Skinner again in any playoff game.
Maybe make some lineup changes and take out the cardio merchants that bring nothing. Trade deadline acquisitions are sitting on their ass. Time to grow some balls or gtfo
I know 5 things for sure. Edmonton ain't resigning Perry, Henrique and Carrick (good bye our #1 pick), Foegele ain't getting his big resign raise (with Jackson in the big chair…. If it was Holland, Holland would give Foegele $9M AAV for 8 years lol) and McLeod is going bye bye to another team this off season. Saying McLeod is playoff material is like saying McDavid belongs on the 4th line.
The problem with this team is that they just don't hustle. It's not a skill or talent problem, it seems like it's just a discipline and leadership problem. They just don't play hard enough, they are softer than soft serve ice cream. They'd be winning the cup if they were tougher. So many big dudes on that team that play like pussiesx
Man wtf coach says the 4th line played real well tonight and yet he played them 10 mins….. The 5 players he put out there at the end were among our worst last game. Drai was good but the other 4 we bad. Its just 1 game but man it hurt to watch
The back passes resulted in turn overs it seems. I like our coaching cool demeanor and not humiliating the players publically. Yes we are definitely being man handled by hits.
You guys always do that where you give up skating the last minute of play. It's like you guys decide "hmm it'll go to overtime, it'll be fine." I mean seriously come on. Whatever happened to "skate to the whistle/buzzer!" ???
This was the first game in the series where Vancouver carried the play. Credit them, they were energetic and aggressive on the PK, PP was a non factor, barely established the zone, which is bizarre. No margin for error now.
It takes a full team rolling the lines to give a team the advantage in seven game series.
You will wear out your elite players giving them the lion’s share of the shifts..it’s not just physical wear n tear it’s the relentless pressure.
Coaching that throws in all its chips on a handful of players..is a concession that your team only wins with a partial rollout. A mistake because this is only around Two. To win the SC you need a complete group through another 10 games.

This game was ours but we p!$$%d it away! Early lead. Brown great opportunity missed, "3" shots on "5 PPs", massive brain fart by Bouchard, and bad change and confusion at the bench on winning goal cost us this game. I dont buy into the "OILERS ARE TIRED" mentality. Canucks should be tired too!? If only we capitalized on all our opportunities in the 1st period? we easily win the game! We just needed to bare down and score on those opportunities, and then hang on the rest of the game, exhausted or not! Going into next game, and beyond, how well the coach manages the lines is gonna be key! ….. Imo, last night the 3rd & 4th line were playing really good (exception Cory Perry) and especially the 4th line, these lines should've been given more ice so our stars didn't have to play so much. The Coach needs to solve this issue for the next game. The plan should be to try and score early a couple goals or so and make the 3rd /4th lines play more, especially in the 2nd period where Vancouver seems to start owning the game and have their way! In the 3rd period, the stars can be used more heavily to control the play and put the Canucks away! Anyway, this should be the strategy imo.. Lastly, Perry should be benched!. Its bad enough we are getting hemmed in and hes TOO SLOW to help out! Its like its a PP when he's out there! Put Carrick or Gags in!
When comes to end always they let go on game all that hard work to get in playoffs and let go make it easy on Vancouver look in paper oilers much better team with power we have we should sweep Vancouver but look what’s happening no body can blive one game power play work well one game power plays nothing we need to be steady team not like what we showing I know they can beat anyone I think oilers will win series

You need depth… One line team , mediocre defence and shaky goaltending can get you so far.
