  1. hahaha….. hell, I had like 10 today…. just saying…. northern redneck here….. is what it is….. hahaha… good thing it was a big fella…(regular tick – no worries) . the freaking deer ticks are tiny…. they are trouble

  2. I like Jr and Amy both ! They are down to earth people . Not snobby. I had Lymes disease for several years before they knew about the ticks and Lymes . I'm paying for it now. Nasty antibiotics every 3 months. I have to get tested every time I get bit . I hunt and fish and spend a lot of time out doors . Use needle nose tweezers pull it straight out. Those tick removers don't work that they sell in the pharmacy. Use the highest amount of Deet in bug spray if you can . I use Cutter Back Woods 40% Deet ! Works great! Good luck all !

  3. Dale you need to get you some Guinea fowl. They will get rid of ticks on your farm. Plus a flock of them can take care of snakes and flies.

  4. My understanding is that you want to remove the whole tick. You do not want any part of it to remain on you. There are many different tick borne diseases that can make you life miserable. Lyme disease is just one of them. Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is another nasty tick borne disease. I looked this up and here are some other tick related diseases. babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, Southern Tick-Associated Rash Illness. Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever and tularemia.

  5. Wow….not to make. Fun because I know lime disease is real but there are many more things by far more serious than a tic bite

  6. I panic to when i got bit by a tick my uncle caught Lyme disease and has been sick ever since some times it cause you not to be able to eat i would have probably took antibiotics two just be on the safe side i had a tick bite me were the sun don't shine.

  7. My husband got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever about 16 years ago after being bitten by an infected tick. About 2 weeks after he was bitten (on the shin, and wound up with the classic bullseye) he started feeling kinda like he had the flu on Friday and ran a low grade fever all weekend. He ran an insurance route at the time and on Monday drove back and forth between several counties 30-45 minutes from each other. He was still running a low grade fever so I called and got him a Dr appointment for Monday afternoon. The drs office called me when he got there to let me know the dr had taken him across the street to the ER because “he needed more care than they could provide!” When I got to the ER his fever was sky high, he had a splitting headache, and although he knew who I was he didn’t remember anything that happened from Friday until they got him to the ER on Monday!!! And he had been seemingly coherent all weekend and even Monday morning when he left for work and when he called me at lunch, all of which he has no memory of to this day! He didn’t know what day it was, where he was or how he got there, he didn’t know who the president was, and he was confused as to why “people were talking to him on the thing on the wall” (it was the TV)!!! He was in ICU for a couple of days and in the hospital for a week total. He hasn’t been the same since then! He gets frustrated and overwhelmed easily if he tries to do more than one thing at a time, his memory isn’t what it was before he got sick, and there are other more subtle differences. TICK BITES ARE NO JOKE!!!

  8. I’ve had Alpha Gal Syndrome since being bitten by the Lone Star Tick (white spotted tick) 15 years ago. Can’t eat ANY red meat animal protein. It’s a very serious deal and can land a person in the hospital and in serious cases can kill during a full blown allergic reaction.

  9. Jr I think you’re amazing at everything you do and the man you are…but brother you know your daddy would be giving you hell about mailing a tick off to get tested. He’d pulled it off and never thought about it again lol 😂

  10. Thank you for sharing and raising awareness about potential tick-born diseases. My wife contracted Lymes Disease in 2010 after a tick bite, even though she went through the initial treatment plan. Since then, she has constant joint pain, has developed Food sensitivities that she never had before(Gluten, dairy, corn, soy, etc), and she also has Fibromyalgia now. she's 32 now…and was diagnosed with all of this stuff in 2016(post lymes disease of 2010). It is very important for people to understand that just because someone looks normal, they may be battling things that can not be seen.

  11. Ticks have been real bad around my property here in north carolina. I've found a couple on me this year and now I'm super paranoid about finding one on me.

  12. Dude it definitely affects the same part of the brain that he has trouble with from concussions. Definitely not an over reaction. An under reaction of anything. He should go be tested himself and don’t rely on just testing the tick.

  13. Every year in early April when you go mushroom hunting for morels you get ticks, ALWAYS so I quit hunting mushrooms I hate ticks

  14. Use a match light it and put it out but immediately put it on the tick so it will pull its legs out the bite part whatever it’s called. When I pull them out it leaves the head in and it will itch for two years

  15. Dale laughing from 9:50 to 10:00 had me cracking up so much.

It was like a kid who said something they thought was the funniest and nobody else really thought it was that funny.

  16. They climb trees also.q tip peroxide just go around and around with saturated q tip and will exit them by itself😢

  17. I was sick for a month straight after a tick bite. Thought it was Covid and finally found a big bullseye looking bite. Strong antibiotics and I was mostly fine.

  18. Ugh, I was just diagnosed with Anaplasmosis. Deer tick disease. Never saw the tick. ER said 40 percent never see the tick.
My husband had Lyme 4 years ago. Ended up in intensive care. His organs shut down. Made a full recovery eventually!
It’s bad stuff, folks. Minnesota is a beautiful place to live, but we have a zillion ticks. And! We are careful! We spray, look for ticks, where appropriate clothing, etc.

  19. Dude, tics are nothing. We used to get them on us all the time in Texas in the 80s and 90s and then the fire ants invaded and pretty neutralized them….

  20. Never burn a bitten in tick in your skin but if it’s crawling on your sleeve or pants legs light him up !!!
