What exactly did he say that wasn’t true? Alex was a very good kickboxer who never had to wrestle to win fights. In the UFC, wrestling is a pretty big part of the sport, and Alex has very little experience doing it. The truth is, Alex is so good striking and kicking, that he doesn’t need to be a great wrestler to win.
Smith said if he faced Alex in a wrestling match, he would probably win… is that true or not? He didn’t say he would beat Alex in a UFC match, so what’s the problem here?
Just because Smith isn’t as successful as Alex is in the UFC doesn’t mean Smith isn’t a better wrestler than Alex.
