i would think itis more likely they get rid of lalonde and do whatever they can to keep kane

Get rid of Lalonde and give Kane the $. Showtime has shown how clutch he can be and he is a huge veteran presence in the playoffs once they make it next year.
Kane said early on that he would consider signing longer term if the Wings made the playoffs. That didn't happen. I think he only signs again if A) Wings throw stupid money at him or B) no one else has a better offer
Lalonde isn't going anywhere.
Kane will walk to a playoff contender. He's not a good fit for a team on a rebuild. Let him go. Also, having had a number of hip/pelvis surgeries myself, I know how fragile this part of the body is. The only way he has many years left in the NHL is if he keeps doing what he does now, completely ignore his own zone and any defensive responsibilities whatsoever so he only plays half of the ice, less wear and tear on his hip, avoid any and all scrums, play near the boards, or screening their goalie. If he just cherry picks, coasts into the offensive zone, and collects his points with zero hustle or contact, he might last two more seasons. Maybe.
Saying Patrick Kane looks like the best passer in the NHL when McDavid and Kucherov had 100 assists is silly.
Kane doesn’t want to come back BECAUSE Lalonde isn’t getting fired. A talent with a long history of success like Kane isn’t going to tolerate the apathy that is being accepted.
I want Lelonde fired.. he doesn't know what he's doing, his answers at his Press conferences are just hideous! He only got the job cause he worked for Yzerman in Tampa, plus I'm thinking Yzerman is waiting for a big name Coach to be available.. although there are some available now.. plus Sergei Fedorov is a free man, so I'm hoping Yzerman will do something!
