  1. From the refs point of view, you can understand the call. But from the leagues point of view with the angles available in the ā€œsituation roomā€ this should have been a goal.

  2. I was going to commend the ref for calling it immediately and with conviction. But he specifically mentioned ā€œin the blue paintā€ which assumes he SAW that happened. It clearly didnā€™t. Dallas made the next round but that ref clearly shouldnā€™t.

  3. how do they look at the video and say no goal. NHL needs to address this for the immediate future, dallas has been getting bad calls like the puck out of play no glass miss call, and tripping calls.

  4. The reaction by the ref to wave it off so fast was bad enough, but logic says watching the repaly they will overturn it. However this is the NHL we are talking about and like most sports cant make up there mind about how they define rules and enforce them.

  5. Thats the right call, Duchene makes contact w his goalstick long before Makar comes in to push him the overhead proves this!!!
Even if Makar doesn't come in to clear Duchene he can't push accross to attempt a save because Duchene has Georgiev's goalstick tied up w his skate
The refs got this 1000% correct!!!
I am a Jets fan and had no skin in this series …..not a fan of either team!!!!

  6. Duchene Never made contact with that Golie. The Refs Knew it But they Decided to Justify Themselves. They saw they made a wring call. BUT IT WAS DUCHY WHO SCORED THE WINNING GOAL šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. NOW THE REFS TOOK A DUMP IN THEIR PANTS šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

  7. Goalie interference should never be called when the team scored on pushes the oppositions player into the goalie. That's your own fault.

  8. Is it not simply amazing that the NHL can video a play like this and get it so wrong. The referee adamantly waving off the goal was not in a good position to be making the call. His angle is not conducive to seeing the contact or lack thereof clearly. Unfortunately, these types of calls are made all the time in the NHL and allowed to stand. Referees are calling what they think the see rather than sticking to what they see.

Further, their positioning is often lacking. So much so that it gives one reason to believe that they have no protocols in place with respect to positioning or respective responsibilities. If the league is going to have four officials on ice, they should all be engaged in making calls. In general, referees should be focused on the puck and linesmen should be on the lookout for infractions away from the puck .

Thankfully, this botched on ice call and video review did not result in the wrong team winning the game. It easily could have. Some would say that the hockey gods fixed the error of the incompetent league officials.

Officiating is always a target but it seems with good cause. The linesmen seem so intent on becoming part of the game that they refuse to drop the freaking puck prefer to diddle around so they can through someone out of the circle. Referees call majors so they can review them in some cases just to say no penalty occurred whatsoever or to call a two minute minor when clearly at minimum a double minor should have been assessed, if not a major. Video review being part of that process, yet no video review can be conducted [without a challenge, it applicable] on a delay of game even though the league claims it wants to get things right.

A growing problem is calls and video reviews are failing to get things right. Couple that with the leagues growing ties and promotion of the gambling aspect of sports and the games credibility has to be considered. That is on the league and not on the players. It gives rise to fans questioning whether the betting ledgers influence the game on the officiating and rules enforcement side of things. Certainly can see league involvement in such things considering the types running the show. If one day there is an investigation or gambling/fixing scandal involving the league, I hope league officials do not attempt to point fingers at the players to protect themselves as league officials are the ones who embraced the gambling industry.

  9. If a goalie sticks his equipment outside the blue, that's on him if it gets stuck on a player that's not in the crease. The crease is there for a reason. The league got lucky the Stars won despite this, but it should have been here and not another OT later.

  10. Right now nobody watching the game of hockey understands what is or isnā€™t goalie interference, no one playing in the game understands it either, and the officials clearly donā€™t understand it. The NHL needs to fix this as a first priority during the office season, because right now this is embarrassing.

  11. I see now the NHL refs are now jumping into the bad, missed, & no-call fest that the NFL has been enjoying for 3 years, WTH?

  12. Yes we won but this was completely unacceptable for playoff hockey, top 5 worst calls ever made
