Let teams choose. If you want this LTIR Player in the playoffs he counts against your cap. If you don’t want him to count against your cap, you don’t get him in the playoffs.

What if before each team's last game, every plater on LTIR must go through a league mandated physical and if that player is deemed healthy enough to play, they count against the team's cap for game 82.
Ltir is the cap buster call it what it is ! The only way cheaters get sanctioned is if it affects the gambling side of it ! Otherwise cheating is seen as a clever means to an end ! Screw bettman!!
the reason vegas is so good is because of the people not on the ice.
they draft better than most teams.
they trade better than any team.
they spend more than any other team on salaries (bonuses).
they treat their players to perks, like trips, car washes, clubhouse, etc.
look at the oilers as contrast:
they dont trade for players.
players dont want to play there.
they dont want to spend money.
all they do is draft, and they arent even very good at it. draisitl might be their best draft pick… and that actually took some intuition.
all these people getting mad at vegas, are really mad about how poorly ran their own team is.
The only way to hurt the NHL and the GK is to not watch the GK games. Reduced revenue will make them wake up and change the rules or the practices.
Boycott watching. The sponsors should stop sponsoring these games.

Mark Stone was put on IR February 22nd; he was activated April 22nd. Average recovery time for a Lacerated Spleen is 2 months, so no argument there he was on schedule. His prior two IR assignments were because of back-to-back Back Surgeries. Hate all you want but these injuries are legit and people like yourself shitposting about it is why everyone thinks we're cheating. These are world class athletes with world class health care and physical therapy so to suggest we're cheating and someone like PB outright saying we're fishy on national television is very unprofessional. He's OUR CAPTAIN so even if he isn't 100% he's still gonna play for us cause that's what captains do. The league has had chances to fix these LTIR rules and they didn't. Why??? Cause every good team in the league also takes advantage of LTIR like we do.
I completely agree that what Vegas is doing (and what Tampa di) is legal and within the letter of the rules. I do think that it probably isn't within the spirit of the rules, but that only ever really becomes an issue when things are repeatedly abused. Can we all agree that (legal or not) the optics aren't great for Vegas or the NHL?

There is no way to really do anything crazy but I'd say. Either make a max cap for the playoffs like let's say for playoffs your roster in total can only be 90.5 million. Or you can say you have to play before the end of the season like within the last 10-1 games. Vegas is my third favourite team but they did eliminate my team last year in the first round so I understand why people are mad but the fact people cry and spend their time and energy on it is genuinely sad. Let the NHL worry about it. Don't cry about it.
Do I think this LTIR rule is ok ?, absolutely, it's within league rules. Do I think this rule should be changed ? Absolutely, it's a back door way of using a 6mil player to load up for the playoffs and needs to drastically change because there is prob no parity across playoff contenders. Maybe they should just advance all playoff teams 5-6 mil each to load up for playoffs.

Teams won’t vote to change this because if they lost their Mcdavid or Matthews or Mackinnon to LTIR , they would lose their mind as would the fans to not have them available in the playoffs. And rightfully so. People forget that most of the cap they took on was retained by the teams that traded with Vegas. They are technically well over the cap with scratched players but on ice cap is minimally over like some other teams playing right now. The narrative has been that VGK would miss the playoffs or get crushed but now they’re cheaters because a stacked #1 seed lost? I say let our teams leave it on the ice and good luck to all playoff teams. Go Knights Go!

Habs fan, but I really hope that Vegas loses and gets what they deserve, teams shouldn't be able to cheat the cap like that. There's also the fact that Vegas is Bettman's Golden child so you know that the refs will always be on their side; this was evident during their playoff series against Montreal (they still lost lmao) where they got away with murder and the refs didn't do anything about it.
I GUARANTEE YOU, if Robertson went down in January or February, Dallas, Mathews in Toronto there G.M. would do the EXACT same thing and IF they didn't, that's on the G.M!!! BELIEVE ME, the NHL combed through EVERY medical record to check the validity of the injury! Convenient, yes but as they say, shit happens. Stone is a the epitome of a competitor! He would much rather be on the ice and hanging with the boys than doing rehabilitation. Something needs to change, but not from Vegas point of view!
What people seem to forget is that Vegas is loosing picks and prospects to make these moves happen with NO guarantee of success!
Playoffs ought to be cap compliant. That would ultimately fix the issue.
