New York Rangers we’re up 3-0 in the 2nd round series against the Carolina Hurricanes but have now lost back to back games. Rangers were 7-0 in the playoffs up until the game 4 loss in Carolina where the team had a chance to complete the sweep.

I don't see that we really won any of these games this series , yes we won by the score but period by period we are being out played every game . Carolina figured us out and if we don't make adjustments we will be right next to Toronto as the NHL laughing stocks.

I'm a little worried. I still think the Rangers can turn this around because they've responded well after bad showings all season. After game 4 part of me was thinking maybe go with Quick in game 5, not because Igor was the problem in game 4 (I don't think he was) but because his frustration level was rising and that's something that needs to be kept in check. If Quick went last night, either he gets the W and everybody's happy or he doesn't and you go back to Igor, who has had a chance to shake off game 4, in game 6. Now I would say that option is off the table. I don't blame Igor for last night either…the Rangers did the thing Ranger teams have done in key games for decades at this point: get a 1-goal lead and attempt to hold onto it in the stupidest way possible, i.e. by spending the entire rest of the game in the defensive zone. But even so I'm worried about Igor's mindset going into game 6. And now it's too late to consider giving him a night off. We just have to hope we get one of those bounce-back performances from the team as a whole like we've seen all season.

We couldn't pass, we couldn't defend, we couldn't skate, no forecheck, no time of possession. The entire team just looked exhausted. I do think there were some missed calls in the game where we would've had more power play opportunities, but I'm not sure how much it would have mattered last night. Team almost looked like they took the night off. I think we have the ability to turn it around, but we can't take our foot off the gas like that again.

Does anyone remember at the end part of the season when they couldnāt beat teams who were fighting for a playoff spot? Thatās when you get practice for beating desperate teams that youāre about to eliminate.
If they lose game 6, itās over. They wonāt have the momentum and will buckle. If it goes 7, I would put in Quick, I just think it wonāt be enough. There 5/5 is horrible, if there PP runs dry, so does there season.
the Rangers 5v5 is mediocre at best, the only that was going for them is their Power play. if the Canes PK did not fell apart the Rangers would have lost. Now it looks like the Canes PK is back and that is trouble for the Rangers.
Big stars did not show up in game 4 or 5. Lack of play, backchecking was horrendous. The 1st goal, Mika was slowly skating off like it's a day in the park, resulted in the back of the net. 2nd goal, Panarin stops skating on the backcheck, resulted in goal#2. Goal 3. Trouba coughs up the puck, Canes right in the slot and bury it. I honestly don't understand the Mental Lapses this team had. Your in your home building, the place should have been rocking. Instead the team lays a goose egg. They need to take there head out of there a$$e$ and say screw it. Go all in, play hard, forcheck, backcheck, dive for loose pucks, put shots on goal. Anderson looked fine, because he was not tested. Rangers had 1, just 1!!! High Danger Scoring chance the whole game. Go into Carolina, use Kuvtnesov quote as a motivation tactic and close it out. Stop looking afraid, stop looking timid. Go in and push back.

Every game has been close, game 4 could have gone either way, but collapsing like that last night in the third was disturbing. One day off for 5 games straight is a lot of hockey to play so I'm hoping this additional day off will give them enough rest they needed. They have to exceed the effort Carolina keeps giving. Last night was a flashback to January. We can't go back there again.

We pushed a really good team to the brink. They pushed back and won a very close game 4. We played an uncharacteristic game 5, esp in the 3rd, no doubt.

Iām a Canes fan and I donāt see that the Rangers are collapsing. That 4-1 game last night was closer than what the scoresheet stated. The other 4 were as close as they come. This is what happens when the 2 best teams (IMO) in the nhl play each other.
The Trouba Train scoring was nice but; i rather he knock the gingivitis outta player's easily skating into our zone.. The canes don't respect the Rangers defense…. Let's Go Rangers!!!!!

I love your videos dude and Iāll be honest I didnāt watch the whole thing yet. Hereās my perspective after being a faithful loyal fan for over 20 years yes that half my life span.
To start they havenāt played there game that they did all season the last two games obviously. Two major things I saw going into the third period, right at the start of the period they asked the analyst what the Rangers assistant coach said during the intermission. āWe will keep focusing on playing defenseā that was the answer ā¦ wtf is that crap and that canāt happen this day and age. This isnāt the team that Torts coached going 3 – 4 rounds 7 game finals. Thatās not this team so why the hell are they saying weāre going to play that way when itās not the formula they used all season. Then too boot they kill the idea to keep rolling all 4 lines consistently and just stick Chris and Mika out there to play ādefenseā wrong message for the rest of the team and shoot themselves in the foot. Bottom line with this all you gotta let these guys play the game they play and stop making them second guess there instincts out there. One example panarin, let him loose already like he did the first 7 games if he turns it over so be it thatās how we score.
Lastly itās really pathetic to have a talented young guy like Matt Rempe with a leash on him. This kid comes into the league with his own style and thatās to rip the heads off of anyone in his way. So what if he has a penalty, they are out there committing penalties no matter what especially with the way refs are calling $h*t. The 3rd and 4th line are all āprofessional hockey playersā and we are lucky we have the team we do. It's not at all surprising that the Canes weren't swept… they are just too good to go out that easy At this point in playoffs, teams that are still there should be competitive and respected. I wish they all went 7 games…soooo much more exciting!

Because they lost back to back games does not mean they are done. Yes they played inconsistent Hockey and YES there was no intensity in their game but all in all they are way better then the Canes and they will send the Canes and it's fans home with a bad taste in their mouths.
Just because they lost two games in a row doesn't mean they are done. They lacked intensity and consistency in this game. They will over come and shutout the canes 3-0
