Charlie Coyle Talks Increased Role This Season, Exceeding Expectations
yeah it always it always stinks there’s no easy way around it when there other teams still playing on TV it’s you know it’s it’s hard to watch and um yeah you never want to end early but that’s it’s the nature of the business sometimes there’s only one winner you know uh pretty much every team goes goes home uh you know unhappy and it’s uh you know you got to look at some positives and and take those with you and uh let’s we have the summer four work on some things and come back better how close do you think this team is Charlie there’s going to be some changes we know that but the core that you guys have growing Swan’s growon L’s grow how close do you think you are yeah we I think there was a lot of positives in that in that form with a lot of guys playing increased roles younger guys coming up and um you know whether expectations were low or whatever guys guys Rose to the occasion took on more responsib ility more playing time playoff experience like that’s that’s all valuable stuff and we saw that a lot with a lot of guys I mean our whole team as a whole but just guys coming up and playing and and doing a great job and exceeding expectations which that’s that’s what you want um it’s it’s it’s great to see that that growth from a lot of individuals and that’s that’s just valuable stuff that we’re going to take and it’s going to be huge moving forward but I’m I’m really excited about this group I you know there’s no constellation for losing it sucks and that’s you know put that first and foremost it sucks but to look ahead you have to look ahead and and see what you have and what we have and what we can continue to grow on I’m really excited about that and it it it gives you a little spark for the summer to to go out and and get better and come back better for your team um I love our core and what we have what we have is special the culture in here special we always talk about that and I think that says a lot on why guys come in and even younger guys to and and kind of relish in their roles and and play well is because of the culture that enables guys to do that um and that always excites you so I’m excited to to get going and look forward to next year Charlie you were one of those guys who obvious on a bigger role always a center but top top line top minutes what was a learning curve if there there was you at all there always is it doesn’t matter where you play or how many years you play in a certain role I think there’s always that learning curve you can always get better and learn and that’s what’s special about this game you’re never you know it can never be complacent you’re always you’re learning every day um yeah for me personally there was a little more responsibility and a role that I’ve wanted for a while and and wanted to do well in um I’m a tough critic on myself and I always have been I like that about myself cuz you always it pushes you to do more um I think you know there were some strides that were made but there’s some some things that I can get better at will get better at and and I’m always looking to to increase my ability and and and what I do and to come back and and be a better player for this team that’s that’s what you have to do that’s what I strive to do and we all strive to do that that’s what makes guys in here and our team you know so good is everyone has that mindset so it’s no different going into the summer but it gives you confidence to have that increased role and you know playing time and you just want to do better when you have that
Boston Bruins forward Charlie Coyle spoke on his increased role this season following the departure of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, along with some of the younger players who stepped up throughout the season.

What disappointment Coyle and Zacha were. Bums in playoffs.
