Contract info

SKA is trying to do what is best for Michkov, per Head Coach Roman Rotenberg. Rotenberg mentioned family as the main reason why Michkov wants out of SKA
Michkov must play in the NHL, no AHL
Michkov will have to buyout his contract
Apparently, the amount to buy out his contract with SKA is $400,000, per Hockey News Hub (@HockeyNewsHub). This amount must be paid by Michkov, not the Flyers.

Starting a lemonaide stand for him. “Money for Matvei Move” 8oz. cup for $5.00. All proceeds go to Matvei to help with his moving expenses. Which corner should I setup on?

So looking at ELC structure something popped out at me.

The Russians have made it clear they want Michkov to play big minutes at the nhl level which is cool, but why? Like they get their money why should they care? I mean sure itā€™s nice they want to see him succeed but as a promise to the team? Seemed intense

Then I looked at ELC bonus structure. There are several bonuses that pay out 212,000 a year each. Some are obvious like 20 goals in a season, all star selections. Whatever. But by far the ā€œeasiestā€ for a forward to earn is for ice time. As long as youā€™re one of the top six forwards for ice time on a per game basis for your team, you get 212,000. So maybe the deal is the flyers get Michkov if they can guarantee the 212,000 ice time bonus, which Michkov uses to pay off his contract. If he gets another bonus this year great they pay it sooner, but if not Michkov just gives them that bonus every year he earns it until itā€™s paid off

Would explain why they are so much about ice time and why the ā€œlegal sideā€ is whatā€™s holding things up. Iā€™m sure the league has to be briefed on the deal and okay with it, and it may a bit tin foil hat, but it would track with everything being said.
