  1. It makes me smile ear to ear to see a homer like Garrett rage quit on his own team. And mocking Eckholm for screening Skinner? Dude, Eckholm accomplished more in the first 10 games of his rookie season than Cheech accomplished in his entire career. Probably blocked more pucks too.

  2. john garrett, walked the walk talks the talk…my favorite..great analysis of the game, and the season!

  3. Hopefully the oilers get trounced by Dallas. I couldn't care less if they are Canada's only remaining team. If it was any other Canadian team, I could get behind them, but not Edmonton.

  4. I’m surprised so many Oilers fans found this Canucks coverage spot on YouTube. Not so surprised they came here to pile on.

Best of luck the rest of the way, however long that might last.

  5. Why didn't Vancouver play the first 2 periods like the last 8 minutes? Probably because the Oilers weren't sitting back with a 3 goal lead. After it was 3-2, I don't know if Vancouver got another shot while trying to save their season. Vancouver was outplayed 6 of the 7 games even with McDavid battling injury. Skinner fell apart this series and that's why it went 7 games.
Although if Demko were healthy, who knows.

  6. Did Garrett watch the game? You think the Canucks weren't trying to get shots on net.? They couldn't do it because of the other team kept the puck in at least two thirds of that game.

  7. Well, I find it hard to complain about a team which gave a stellar regular season, with the last month or so of it with second and third goalie in the net, then went into the playoffs where their second and third (mainly) goalie punched above their weight class and took a team like Oilers to Game 7, losing by one, while missing their best scorer and #1 Vezina-material goalie. Thanks for the great season, better luck next year…

  8. From the beginning, I’d said I’d be happy if they make the playoffs, which they did as pundits all agreed that they would be a team fighting for a wildcard spot. Well, they did more than that during the regular season and came first in their division. In fact, they were at the top of the league for a few weeks so making the first round not because it crawled tooth and nail to win a playoff wildcard spot is already a bonus for me, never mind reaching the second round losing in seven games to one of the pre season favorites to win the cup. (Remember how 23 out of 24 ESPN guys picked the Oilers to walk all over the Canucks?) Yes, expectations from plenty of people changed during their totally unexpected successful season. But not for me. Anything past any round is just another added bonus for me.

Pettersson is a head-scratcher. I totally disagree with people who are said he didn't show up but yes, you'd hope that he can be a difference maker. I don't know if Oilers fans said the same about McDavid in this series – held to no shots in a couple of games and few points in the series. We will see how he and the Oilers do against Dallas as the physicality of this series will take a toll on them and Dallas has a longer rest. Back to Pettersson though, I think this series is good for him because things seem to go his way ever since his broke into the league. Remember his sly smile when he scored in his first game. Even the team didn't do well, his play has not been one to be criticized – until now. We shall see what he has learned from this playoff experience, hoping of course he will be a much better player that he already is like Hughes has done when he was manhandled by Vegas in the bubble playoff series and was visibly upset and frustrated.

  9. Embarrassing tonight from Vancouver. Didnt even get 20 shots and the PP was awful. I wonder if the Canucks will pick up some offesne this summer. It wont mattet if Tochett forces them to play defense lol

  10. Spot on they went in conservative. Canucks needed to bring physicality which went missing after game 5

  11. Disappointed they came out the get looking slow and sloppy they should have been pumped and came out flying. That falls on the captain or the coach for not pumping the guys up.

  12. Great season, far exceeded expectations. Demko was not the reason we didn't go further, this teams inability to get shots on net, score goals and a horrendous powerplay is the reason we lost this series. Canucks held a lead for like 2 mins this entire series. If it weren't for shaky Edmonton goaltending the first few games, we would have been lucky in win 1-2 games. Love this team, love the season they had but let's be real here, they did not play well in the post season and struggled to put a full 60 minute effort together. The comebacks were amazing to watch, but this team was winning by the skin of their teeth too often. Can't wait until the last 5 mins to push back every game – going to bite you eventually.

  13. A huge disappointment for loyal Canucks fans. Canucks basically took the night off. They didn't show up for the first two periods and played like they were all thinking about their golf game next day. They looked unfocused and uninspired. Silovs was excellent and it could have been 5-0 without him. There was very little compete until the 3rd period, but by then it was too late. They ended the year on a whimpering giveaway. Sad to see and I'm about done with this team.

  14. Well, I’m still glad I canceled my season tickets. I thought for sure they might win the cup if I canceled my tickets and didn’t watch a game during the season or playoffs.

  15. What could have been if Pettersson was just normal, not brilliant.? What could have been if Boeser was firing instead of the subs? Without Demko, the only satisfaction is that the Canucks confirmed a find in Silovs. With the turnover expected on the team, success will be tougher next year. That's for sure.
