[Daugherty] From what I understand, this is mostly a cap move, but also McDonagh has been wanting to return home. With that contract, the only way he would waive NTC is by going back to Tampa. Smart move by Trotz (and with $26 million in cap, there’s likely more coming)

Tampa fan here was he good last year, how was he defensively?

Let’s just keep trading with Tampa if they’re gonna give us free draft picks like this

Your home is New York, not Tampa Bay, Ryan!

I have not really learned to trust this team with cap space yet sadly

  5. I’m on the fence about who I want more between Marner and Necas.

Necas is younger, cheaper, and a natural center. Marner is only 2 years older, is more dynamic offensively, but more expensive.

Marner is well over a PPG (639 in 576 GP), Necas is 243 in 362 GP. Are Marner’s point totals inflated because of who he has for linemates, probably so.

Necas has only played a full season once, but Marner hasn’t played a full season since 2018-19.

Positives and negatives to each. Honestly I’d be good with either one.
