Guy has proven every year to be the best player in the world come playoff time but ABSOLUTE CRICKETS from ESPN and TSN.
He really does. Draisaitl has been playing like a werewolf all playoffs. Draisaitl is great every playoffs. McDavid seems to be player that builds up slowly most playoffs. He will have one or two games where he seems quiet but productive and then explodes like a supernova the next game and puts up 4 points. McDavid has bought in defensively, but the Oilers need him to start potting some goals. He needs to score at least 3 goals himself this series along with his usual playmaking magic for the Oilers to win. He scored 8 goals in 12 games in last years playoffs. He needs to start potting goals again.
I am huge fan of McDavid, but the Conn Smythe trophy if it was awarded right now belongs to Draisaitl. Draisaitl does everything in the playoffs. Blocks shots, hits, takes abuse, wins faceoffs, scores goals, sets up plays, and is just a generally ice in his veins mean as a bull warrior. McDavid has been great, but Draisaitl is the player that lives and and breathes playoff hockey. I hear talk about how Auston Matthews is the ultimate two way player because he can score goals and defend, but Draisaitl does it better while in the playoffs. Draisaitl is the Smythe winner if the Oilers win the cup.

Micdavid is an average player in the playoffs, and don't tell me how many points he has because with 8 power plays every game and nearly 25 minutes of ice time you're going to get those numbers with his talent. I'm talking about consistent 200 ft games, he's been average.

McDavid and Draisaitl need to put the team on their back if they're winning the cup. I'm tired of hearing how they might go to other teams and they need this perfect mix of teammates to have a shot at it. They have all the firepower in the world in Edmonton and an incredible team. If they want to win the cup they NEED to be the best players in the world and lead this team.
McDavid and Draisaitl will be fine, the question is everyone else. Pittsburgh and Tampa won Cups because everyone was able to step up when the stars were not producing. That’s why Edmonton hasn’t been able to take that next step
