  1. i will bet real money — US Dollars — that the Habs do not sign anyone over the age of 28. I'll cover any and all takers.

  2. Gorton & Hughes are very intelligent, driven and they strive to be winners.

I trust their judgement 100%. We are in very capable hands.

Our team will be in good shape in another 2 to 3 years. (Meaning playoffs and/or Stanley Cup contenders IMO).

  3. I don't know. Demidov his great but is skills outside of goal scoring is pretty lacking. I prefer a complete player like Lindstrom.

  4. I think we're too early for FA's…doesn't yet fit the timetable. Either Demidov or Lindstrom would be awesome but if we somehow have a choice between both I'd go with Dermidov; can't pass up on superstar potential.

  5. Montreal can get Martin Necas in a trade for a price they can live with. The Habs could even get him via an offer sheet, but that won't happen with these two teams. Too much bad history.

  6. Someone "big" this summer maybe, most probibly. Next summer is the real big game season. MTL will be much more attractive to free agents.

  7. If Demidov and Lindstrom are gone by the 5th pick, the Habs should trade down or pick Silliev. Then they would have to trade fir a top 6 forward

  8. Josh, Jesse, you convinced me that Hughes has to go for both Demidov AND Lindstrom! Not sure if he could deal his way there, but wouldn't it be great if we had BOTH!

  9. This is off topic, although some were talking about Marner to the Habs—so unlikely and unwanted. Just saw a stat about him. In his playoff career,he has 6 minor penalties. 5 were pucks over the glass ( 2 against us). The kid gets rattled. Keep him away!

  10. Lindstrom is surely a great choice, but watching replays of Demidov skating sideways, breaking the laws of physics, is something else 😉
As for the FA market, I have a feeling that HuGo, based on prior moves, will go off the board entirely to find what they are looking for.
    Great show guys!

  11. I wouldn't give a lot of term to the 28 and 29 year olds, but if they could get Stamkos or March on a deal that isn't too long I wouldn't be upset. They'd add some older leadership and experience to compliment the younger core and help bring them into their own, and they've both shown they're still more than capable of contributing at their current age. Yes they'll likely decline, but as long as it's not serious term I think it could be quite beneficial.

  12. I think 3 D going before 5 is wistful thinking. My prediction is 2 D go before 5, and Habs get either Demadov or Lindstrom. Probably Lindstrom.

  13. Draft Demidov at 5. Move up into the early teens and draft Sennecke. Along with Dach, Newhook and Roy most of the top 9 is done. Trade for a top 6 and the top 3 lines should be very good. Montreal has so many assets to do this.

  14. Un échange avec Carolina implique au départ un rapatriement de Kotkaniemi, le voulons-nous de nouveau? Peut-être que MSL et son équipe peuvent sauver sa carrière.

  15. Demidov played against the worst talent the KHL ever produced. Foreign players left. So have many Russians. The geopolitical situation there is volatile. Whose to say Putin won't start preventing players from leaving ?

  16. If Demidov is available for the habs and they don't have any red flags then you do it. They have inside knowledge through Bobrov's and Gorton connections we're told.

    2023:
Picks the best D of the draft at 5 after seeing Will Smith going 4th. Lots of teams were calling Hughes about that pick too. They avoid risky Michkov who's attitude doesn't fit the team anyway.

    2024:
Steal of the draft in terms of offensive talent potential. Hoping he would have a good attitude and learn and progress with the coaches and high IQ players.

About this draft the real question for me is:

    – Excluding Celibrini, for obvious reasons, is there a player they absolutely want and who they expect will be gone by 5th and if so how much are they willing to trade for a bump or exchange and get their guy.

I guess we'll wait and potentially find out.

  17. Honestly, I hope Demidov doesn't fall to 5th at all. IMHO, the Habs biggest problem since 93 is that they are too small. Cole is small and he is super talented, as is Lane and I love both of them. However, were they top 5 picks? The Habs got massive deals on them and that's how you draft small guys with a lot of talent. Demidov might have more skill than the other guys but at 5th I'd take Lindstrom because he is way bigger, stronger, has better reach, plus he'd fight and block shots so overall I think he would be better. Long term he'd also likely be more willing to accept less $ than Nick too.

  18. Iginla all the way

There is no guessing on him, youngest first round player in the draft, pedigree bloodline, character, well , playoff beast

  19. I don’t want the habs to make too big of a signing because it could end of being a big mistake if they sign someone who is 29-30 now and they offer them a 4-5 year deal

  20. Folks, am I the only one thinking we have to cool the jets on Demidov and Lindstrom? I think they both have incredible potential however Demidov had knee surgery and that same knee was injured once again which diminished his games played. Lindstrom had wrist surgery and has struggled with his back injury. IMO Habs should draft someone healthy ie Tij, Sennacke, etc… I know Habs will do their due diligence however IMO lets stay away from injuries.
