Hearing this is a HUGE relief for Canucks fans….

The Vancouver Canucks held their end of season media availability this morning. Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes and Brock Boeser all spoke about their respective seasons. Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov talked about their futures with the club as well. Rick Tocchet won the Jack Adams yesterday.

  1. so many Canucks over the years have had injurys that the Canucks have mis managed. I hope they dont f this up.

  2. Send him to Abbotsford for a season. Send up phil Kessle and let this dude get a wake up call.

  3. I did not feel good about the Pettersson response. He couldn't look at the camera, and I still feel like there is something going on with where his head is at. He laughed to deflect from the second question directed his way. I still feel like there was some sort of head trauma or concussion. In fairness, he looked like either of the Sedins during their first playoff run. They got trounced and didn't seem to know how to handle the more physical play at first. But not relieved. Hope he heals and is in a better place next year.

  4. Thanks Deaner for the update! Is Brock Boeser going to be fine for the summer and next season? If so then comment or make a video on it.
    Can you pin me please?

  5. Most players have”nagging injuries” by April , some more impactful than others. Let’s not forget Bobby Baun scored a goal ( think it was a game winner) on a broken ankle in the late 60s for the leafs . Tendinitis would be treated with anti inflammatories , perhaps steroids and pain killers, if necessary. I suspect that this would impact skating and being solid on your skates. This , in my opinion is the type of injury that requires rest. If it started in January why wouldn’t a key player be rested before impending playoffs Instead of continuing to play him ?

  6. Thanks deaner, the buck was stopping at Dallas in any event, for both Van and the oil. Hopefully it will be an entertaining series. Go Benn go. Great BC player

  7. Goddamn, they screwed it up. If they had just let Petey recover from tendonitis when they first discovered it, they would have been unstoppable in the playoffs

Also, never believe what they have to say ever again. They said he was fine, but that was clearly a lie

  8. J-Pat asked Filip some normal questions and he got defensive like a baby. Unreal. Player is soft mentally. That's why his production went down.

No wonder he spent so much time looking swole instead of building muscular endurance and cardio in the offseason.

  9. Having a bad knee still doesn't explain playing "Hot Potato" since Jan and being called out in the Playoffs as a passenger by his coach.

  10. Hughes is not heavy enough for playoff hockey. A gain of 20 pounds would be a deciding factor. Petterson was hitting the only hockey player I know to get a reverse charging call. Totally pathetic. Be nice see him gain weight he’s tall enough to take on another 20 pounds. Not putting down our superstar who wants to be a 200 foot player but he needs to beef up a little

  11. I'm a Canucks fan but I can't believe the Cope coming from the fanbase…holy shi-ite. Pettersson's expression and demeanor shows everything — he wants out.

  12. It's a Swedish thing, he got rubber ducked in the bathtub for Ron McClean and now suffers from permanent loose stools.

  13. Great video! Deaner you should do an off season preview video – who you would sign, who you would trade, free agent targets etc.

  14. Unfortunately even if his left leg and right arm was missing, some people can't help themselves but to criticise and judge on things they have no understanding or knowledge of.

  15. Well that does explain a lot about Pettersen. He looked like he couldn't push off properly, and speaking from experience, a bad knee just takes everything out of your game.

  16. Not a relief for me. Shows the Canucks have still not learned how to manage their players health nor how to manage LTIR.

This has been on ongoing issue going back to Tanner Pearson. The entire medical staff should be fired.

  17. Both can be true. Both physical and mental aspects can affect his performance. The knee injury itself may not be able to weigh him down that much, but add his inability to navigate through his first real playoffs, that might be a lot different.

  18. Garland should have been on the 1st PP. Don't put a player in a position to fail. That is what was done during the playoffs with Petey by putting him on the PP. When Garland was on the 1st PP shit happened. Let Lindholm go. Get someone younger, tougher, for less money and preferably north American. No offence, but I'm tired of players that won't skate through a brick wall. And tired of players that let the opposing team slap them around. Get guys that want to play here and toughen up.

  19. B.S. Hes as over rated as they come
You guys are gonna really regret that contract
Can believe he makes more dough than Hughes. Thats almost comical

  20. Toc said he wasnt injured and he dont lie, Petey saying he was injured is an easy out for him

  21. Canucks will lose Hronek, Lindholm, and DeSmith. I think Zadorov, Joshua, Cole, and Myers will be back next year and leave us somewhere in between 4 and 8 million for free agents and AHL guys like Pod, Bains, Karlsson, Lekk, Raty, Hirose, McWard, and Woo a chance to make the team and get some NHL playing time next season. Training camp will be interesting for sure.

  22. This isn’t really a relief it’s more concerning that Peterson was suffering from this since mid January and he was too selfish to rest up and take himself out of play to be ready for play offs? There is no way Vancouver would choose not to rest him so he must have been lying to the team about how he was feeling.

either way guys a goof whines and cry’s for a fat payout and then does nothing after getting it. This is twice now he’s done this to this team.

  23. Cowards way out sorry but it’s true. Princess Elias just ask for a trade cause after the way you played all season and failed all through the playoffs. Get out

  24. Lindholm has a chance to center Marchand-Pastrnak and make more money/term. He's as good as gone, + the Bruins are incredibly desperate for any center atm.

  25. As someone who has tendinitis, it flares up when it wants to. I rested my knee for weeks, and it keeps coming back. It's not an easy injury to come back from. One week, it's great all week, then BAM, it's hard to walk, go upstairs or do anything really. I can totally get how it wpild affect him. Going to need a lot of rehab and rest to get it back to 90% really

  26. I’m not so sure. If he had a major issue, they would have rested him. It’s an excuse.
