  1. He was my favourite Maple Leaf in the 2010's. Still is one of my favourite players. Those haters must feel whack now.

  2. Atta boy Phil, we always loved you here in Toronto, too bad the media were dicks to you for no reason. The best player by far on a crappy team, and now he's thriving with a ring. You don't know how happy I am about this.

  3. Phil was great in Toronto especially in the playoffs. However toronto needed to rebuild, ie tank for the draft to rebuild and unfortunately Phil wasn't part of the rebuild plan.

  4. Good for the penguins, sad my Bruins didnt make the playoffs, but i dont think any team deserves the cup more than The Pittsburgh Penguins.

  5. Happy for Phil. He'll enjoy fishing this off-season. USAH/Torts will regret leaving this guy off Team USA in September.

  6. I'm disappointed that the Pens won, I'll admit. But this is still (as much as I hate to say it) really cool to see them so happy. And as much as I hate it it makes me happy to see people happy, even if those people are the Pittsburgh Penguins. Watching stuff like this makes me think, if Lord Stanley was still around today, what would he think of this?

  7. The NBC announcers pointed out, I believe during the Capital series, that Phil Kessel was voted the most overrated player in the NHL. If that is true, he sure proved it wrong. Give that man a Stanley Cup sized hot dog, or better yet Primantis lol

  8. Phil, on your day with the cup let's fill it with hot dogs and sit out in front of the Air Canada Center and eat 'em!

  9. Kessel was probably happy he got traded as the Leafs were NEVER gonna win the cup but as soon as he got traded to the Penguins they won the cup

  10. I wonder if any of the Toronto hockey media will admit how wrong they were about Kessel's heart and drive?
They should have to have this clip run as a vine as their screen savers for a year.

  11. Kessel is a superstar. Say what you will about Crosby and Malkin or even Letang but Kessel sent the Pens to a different level. Scary team for years to come.

  12. – Leafs fan here…Kessel deserves to lift the Stanley Cup after all the nonsense that went on in Toronto. I never had any beef with Kessel no matter what was said about him by fans or media. He led the team in scoring every year. He just didn't have enough talent around him like he does now with Pittsburgh. And he was terrific for them in the playoffs after struggling somewhat during the season. Keep making all those stupid 'hot dog' jokes about him all you want Leafers…he's not even paying any attention. He's too busy being distracted by carrying that Stanley Cup around to even care anymore. Way to go Phil The Thrill, Congratulations!!

  13. As a Bruins fan, I'm so thrilled to see him finally hoist the Cup. I can't say whether or not he would've been able to do it in Boston, but I'm just so happy to see him finally win. After battling cancer, being traded to a Toronto team that wasn't going anywhere quickly, and putting up with crap from the media there he deserved that more than anyone else.

  14. If the Pens repeat in 2017, I wonder if that will be a bigger F-U to Toronto than when they traded away Larry Murphy to Detroit at the 1997 trade deadline.
