  1. Canes can't keep everyone, and Necas is the best fit to go. He's a very talented player who hasn't quite reached his full potential in Carolina. For the price he will rightfully demand for his new contract, and considering all the other contracts Carolina has to sign, it seems the best choice would be to trade his signing rights and at least get something back for him. I would definitely miss him here, but I think he would do better under a different system.

  2. I have been underestimating Scott Arniel since the 90's. It is high time I realised it and show him some respect for the game he has been involved for basically 60 years.
That said, I am guessing his first order of business is getting associate coaches to fix the PP and PK. Basically, both are atrocities. Good luck, Coach Arniel

  3. I'm not convinced Arniel is the right guy but we'll just have to wait and see. He did well when he had to step up but I wonder how much effort they put into looking at other coaches.

  4. Necas is just what the ducks need to get competitive again. We need a right shot Winger who is in his prime and not aging and have plenty of draft picks to give up.

  5. As a Saginaw Spirit fan, it's nice to see the team have a chance to win the Memorial Cup in something other than my NHL video game career modes lmao.

  6. Hope Arniel’s time goes smoother in Winnipeg than it did in Columbus when he was their HC.

The Jackets improved by 2 points after he took over for Hitchcock/Noel, then fell completely apart the next season. Can’t stress enough how bad they looked; directionless, unmotivated, and often behind 2-0 immediately in games before Arniel was fired exactly 1/2 way through.

Todd Richards took over and it was night and day, same team. It’s no wonder to me it’s taken this long for him to get a second HC chance like this.

  7. Scott Arniel as Jets coach isn't a surprise at all. Sadly, True North is too much of a boys club. This team needs postseason success, not just someone with ties to Winnipeg. I hope his success as head coach isn't like his penalty kill was. I wish him luck, and hopefully only a 1 year term to start. Then, if the Jets are out in the first round next year, send him out with them.

  8. I’d have liked it if you had given some background on Arniel. I really don’t know anything about him. Time to get off my butt (so to speak) and do it myself.

  9. Arniel’s coaching record during Bowness absence was 15 wins, 7 losses, and 3 overtime losses . He’s more than ready

  10. I’m praying the bruins can somehow trade Ullmark for Necas, I think the Canes might do it if we add a somewhat high pick like a 3rd because of their goaltending issues and I love the idea of Necas in the bruins top six

  11. I love Necas' talent level. It's just that on any given night, you didn't know if you'd get engaged Marty or spectator Marty. Change of venue might be good for him.

  12. I dont think Necas would be a good idea in Van. He will ask for too much and not sure about his personality in the locker room.

  13. Arniel is the most TNSE hire ever. Status quo. Let’s just keep things the same and see if that gets a different result. Every Jets fan I know has been calling it for months. Half a dozen great coaches on the market and Jets go with loyalty and familiarity.

  14. Good luck Jets, methinks you are going to start going downhill now. Arniel is not a good coach, unless your plan is to tank.

  15. Not sure I would be dropping any reasoning for why you do what you do. Just do what you do, you owe us no explanation. Especially those like myself who are not paid subs. I thank you for the content that most of us appreciate for free, not much in life is free.

  16. I'm good with the Arniel hire. His first stint as HC last season went really well, although his second stint did nothing to halt a losing streak. Jets are pretty close to being a great team so it makes more sense to tweak than to blow things up and hope for a favourable aftermath.

  17. Arniel's promotion is no surprise. He was hired BEFORE Bowness and the expectation was that he was being groomed for this. I called it 2 years ago.

  18. Civil on a Hockey channel— lol
    So
Movie line;” Ferris Bueller you’re my hero”
    My do over
    “Shannon u r my hero”
As I listen to your comment on posts timing!! ❤❤❤

  19. Really liked Arniel during his couple years playing here in Buffalo. Wish him all the best in Winnipeg!

  20. Arniel is a terrible hire.
Typical True North, loyal but that's not going to work.
Jets PK & PP have been weak during Arniel's time behind the bench the past 2 seasons & quick playoff eliminations.
He was a disaster in Columbus & players disliked him.
    Major fail.

  21. What do you think the Canes are going to want for Necas? I would love it if Verbeek could get him to Anaheim!
