heard a Matthews interview w Bissonette where he talks about this, he says Kane skated by his bench after this and cussed him out. he genuinely did not appreciate the Matthews celly in his building at all. so that's why he did that. Matthews said it was such a cool and surreal moment to be cussed out by his favorite player that he wasn't even mad about it.
