Giants vs. Mets Game Highlights (5/25/24) | MLB Highlights

from the Staten Island Ferry to the Golden Gate it’s won the season series from the Giants last year Giants have taken three of four from the Mets so far lots of youngsters meeting their Heroes out on the field saying could you win a game in the city connects with Luis sevino on the mound today for the New York Mets as seino strikes out Matos for the first out seino reconstructing his career now with the m and he Strikes Out Estrada with a nasty slider so he’s got back-to- back strikeouts to start his day and he grounds one on the right side mcneel with a sliding stop on the back hand and throws him out saverino’s getting more ground balls than ever and mcneel made that pay off Jordan Hicks out the Bound for the Giants now Francisco Lindor leads off for the Mets switch hitter batting left-handed Lindor cracks one at the right field for a base H and that’s going to go all the way back to the wall so Lindor all of a sudden looking locked in and he’s got himself a lead off double for the second straight day he is back in his Groove and a welcome return on the ground not hit all that hard Tyro behind the bag throws him out knew how much time he had but that moves Lindor to third nasty splitter there for strike three just kept working down and in down and in and inside and that’s the split awesome tumble on that pitch strike three called perfect on the outside corner Jordan Hicks works right around that lead off double no score after one Giants nothing Mets nothing Marte the veteran right-handed hitter and now Marte gets a breaking ball and hamers it a deep lift and it’s out of here Starling Marte with his sixth home run of the Year gives the Mets the early lead he hit it right off the Great Wall of flushing beyond the 358 Mark Starling Marte with his sixth home run of the year the Mets are leading by a score of one to nothing swing and a miss he struck him out four strikeouts in two innings for Hicks but the Mets get a run Luis saverino’s gotten six out of six on just 19 pitches keth pretty good start for srino so he faces and Ramos Ramos pops up the first pitch behind first base McNeil calling for it and makes the one hand grab inside the line one pitch one out gu bigger than Godzilla swinging a miss and saverino’s got his fourth strike out as the Sally goes down for the second half that two seamer yes he’s using that pitch very effectively so far early in this game and wisely lifts one to left and over toward the line comes Stewart and that retires the side second time this year then seino the perfect through three fourth inning one- nothing New York Le srino perfect through the first three back to sevino snagged it and threw out monos for the first out great job by srino to get his glove on that ball Tyro Estrada pops one up off the right side Alonzo should have Ro and right to the railing he makes the catch nicely done by Pete and on three pitches seino has the first two outs and then on the fists little pop up behind second and londor is there to grab it and Luis sevino has four perfect Innings under his belt one up so far so good here PO for Luis saverino 12 up 12 down not only that but on 36 pitches and Chapman is the first base runner for the Giants as he draws a lead off one and Wilmer Flores the still popular former met will be the batter always be held in high regard he lines this one to Center but it stays up for nmo who catches it for the first out yrki flies one into shallow Center and nmo coming on looking through the sunglasses two out so after the lead off walk Zino’s retired the next two R strikes out it pops out of the M of narvas sevino has now pitched no hit ball through five innings a walk and one left it’s hard to feel any way but really positive about Hicks overall a little Jam shot out to short off the bat of Lindor wisley is there to catch it two down and he does get him out right here eight strikeouts for Jordan Hicks that’s one Giants nothing Giants with no hits they’ve had one base runner a walk to Chapman to start the fifth Kurt cassal leads off the sixth first ball swinging like the rest of his mates he pops It Up near second base mcneel to the right of the B makes the one-and catch here’s Brad wisley L and just over the glove of batty and the Giants have their first hit it comes from the number nine hitter Brett wisley and after Severino goes five and the third Giants have their first hit wisely runs and that one he takes B Ball Four Str grounds one to third batty goes to Second out there and no relay Giants have first and third with two down for Patrick Bailey srino throws Bailey L Drive in the left field base hit and that’ll tie the game wisely into to score Patrick Bailey with another big hit it’s one to one Chapman goes down swinging on the 98 mph fast ball and that ends the inning six strikeouts for srino but the Giants tie it it’s 1-1 and the count two B ws and two strikes and nmo lights went off the pitcher’s glove rolling out to wisely his quick toss not in time Rog was looking at his glove as though he should have caught it tipped off the leather and slowed it down enough to nmo beat it out for a hit there goes Nemo the pitch inside and the throw by Cali not even close and Nemo steals the base and he puts him away 96 mph on the outside and it’s been a bit of a pitcher duel in City Field this afternoon New York City the Pitch hit high in the air left field Nimo now in left moving to his left waits for this thing to come down and makes the catch Andy pops it up on the infield Lindor calling all the way two out so Serino unable to put away Ramos after getting ahead of the count and here comes Carlos Mendoza we’ve seen him do this before Carlos Mendoza did this with Jose kintana and gave him one more batter he’s also known seino longer than any of us have known him known him since he’s a kid and he’s staying in love it me too and cassali pops up the first pitch narvas and batty looking for it srino and now batty makes the catch srino gets through seven after getting a vote of confidence from his manager batty has been up twice and struck out both times facing the starter and he cranks with a deep right field that ball is out of here Brett batty puts the Mets in front fighting for his job Brett batty explo loads one into the upper deck and the Mets leate two to one well the competition might be a good thing for Brett batty it’s been 19 days since Edwin Diaz registered a save since then he’s blown two saves and then blew a 4-1 lead and a non-safe situation in Miami a week ago and now right back into the closer rooll today trying to protect a one-run lead Wilmer first pitch swing base hit left field so right away there’s going to be some pressure on Edwin Diaz it’s on the side corner strike three call yky goes down looking at three straight fast balls so now Lamont Way Jun this is a good sign Lamont didn’t start today had a little hamstring tightness after last night’s game for Ramos McKenna runs pitch taken throw is late and the ball kicked away anyway so now you’re just a base hit away from tying this game he got excellent speed at second he pulls this one into right field that’s a hit McKenna coming around third and he will score Wade head for second the throw he is out at second and LaMont upset at himself for pushing it the Giants have tied the game but that’s out number two and he hits it hard over third nice backand play by batty the long hop throw and he gets him at first base batty who gave the Mets the lead with a home run of the seventh saves a double with a terrific play to Rob Cali to get Diaz out of the top of the ninth Shawn Reed Foley is on to pitch in the 10th Brett wisley the first man in and the Mets are looking for the bunt wisley already has two hits today that’s what wisley does instead it bounces through the middle base hit Cali around third and he scores the go-ahead run another big hit for Brett wisley is third of the day monos into Center that’s going to be another hit wisley will stay put at second Bader’s got a good arm and he’s swings and it’s as sharply at first picked up by Alonzo and the ball dropped by Lindor and the base is are loaded Lindor trying to turn the quick double play failed to grab the throw by Alonzo it’s not a good toss the first of the pp through sidearm and a rainbow eight pitch of the at bat coming to Bailey with the bases loaded 3-2 is very high ball four he did swing that’s a walk and that’s a run four to two giants still nobody out what a job by Patrick Bailey great at bat so here’s Yas the Lefty against the tall Lefty Walker that one hit out to left center field and pretty well hit Bader chasing at the wall he misses it kum’s off the wall and that’s going to clear the bases three runs are in around the third yky s-2 Giants here is Harrison Bader right-handed hitter he Skies one to right this should do it yky is there he’ll catch it and the late inning magic has continued for another day for the Giants as the Mets take another defeat and show their frustration as the losses continue to mount

  1. Edwin Diaz needs to pitch the 7th inning from now on until he gets it together again. Cant keep blowing the game in the 9th. Just deflates a team.

  2. Giants are improving on road trip, nice to see the difference from 1-6 previous to 4-1.
    Keep stacking the wins G-Men ! …next 2 series look difficult @ Oracle vs #1 & 2 seeded 🤯

  3. So my giants realize that they don’t have to start winning games 1/4 left into the season but instead winning games 1/4 before game ends great 🎉 o way we have a winning record?

  4. Yankees fan here but if I wanna have some fun, I go watch Mets game highlights. Their defense never let me down. Yesterday Marte, and today it's Alonso and Lindor show.

  5. As a Yankees fan I will say this lost is upsetting only because my man Sevy is pitching like him old self again but this dog water pitching staff from the Mets is just wasting his potential

  6. Been a Mets fan since '84. I've seen a lot of games, used to live within walking distance of Shea, and the Mets are the only sports team I follow.
The franchise has fielded a lot of horrible teams through the years, but they were teams. 2024 Mets are not a team. There is absolutely no chemistry, manager and coaches need to fix that or go.
BTW Alonso is not going to resign. He's going to move to the west coast, and I'm sure the players know it.
This club needs a leader, major league level catching, and a heart.

  7. Not a Giants fan but about time they are playing 500 ball. They've been getting some big Ws lately. Impressive what they were able to do against the Pirates.

  8. For the Mets it's just getting funny at this point 😂. Was not expecting them to be below the nationals in the standings

  9. Funny when Savarino was with the Yanks he was a bad pitcher, now he is pitching like a tart. Yank spent so much money, and time on this clown!

  10. Sorry everyone, but the Giants have a managerial problem. Melvin is an accomplished MLB manager, his credentials are well documented but he has mismanaged several games this year, just a fact. Today, 5/26/2024 is the latest.
