Oh look another argument about what might happen. How old is Corey Perry who’s game is literally just being an asshole to play against? See I can cherry pick older players who have good attributes too.

  2. The article makes some good points about his game probably
not translating well in the future.

But I do think TK would get a “haul”. But we wont get a guy who projects as top line/pair guy. Teams dont trade those pieces so everybody needs to accept that.

So likely a first, one B+ level prospect/young plyer who has good chance to be 2nd line/pair and then an add on or two

You dont trade him for anything you get like the writer claims, but I dont think that will be a problem. He’ll get a good return.

Oh, the daily TK contract discussion. The one where everyone has already shared their thoughts 100 times, and everyone has their mind made up one way or another. Riveting stuff

  4. Evolving Hockey projects 8 * $8.75. I’m ok with those numbers. If they don’t extend him, they’ll have to replace him with someone in a couple of years who will likely be even more expensive due to the rising cap. Plus I like watching him.

Interesting take. But I think everyone is in one of two camps at this point. I for one think the team needs a leader and it’s clearly been TK for awhile. If he’s being valued at sub 9million AAV then that’s an easy risk for this team to take long term.

I agree his game may not transfer into his later years (33yo and on) that being said he’s 27yo!!! People keep acting like he’s over the hump. He at minimum has 4 more productive years. At minimum!

People forget how tanking effects organizations, you can’t just fire sale everyone in the locker room that doesn’t fit the Michkov timeline. You need a bridge of that leadership, culture and pedigree.

    Nice player. I like him.

At those dollars you are paying him to be a 1RW and that is Michkov’s job. Maybe you flip him to the left but we need an elite 1C in the worst way. I see what I can get for him as a GM. It is your job to assess the market.

Before handing out a huge contract, I would assess his trade value.

To me I offer 4-6 years at 8 to 8.5 million. If he declines then I’m shopping him. Love TK but he’s not worth 9+ & I wouldn’t wanna give him 7-8 years. Get a good haul to help build around our u25s.

I think he has better in and passing than the writer gives him credit for. I mean think of the pass that lead to tippett giving him that look  Konecny clearly wasn’t the same upon return from injury

Any thought to overpaying him on a shorter deal? Can we do like 11mil per for a 2 year extension

  9. Yes they can, because he embodies what it means to be a Flyer in not only the eyes of their current coach, but the front office as well. Konecny is exactly what the team needs entering the Michkov era, and not only would they need to replace him with a player of equal or better value in a season or two, you’d be losing one of – if not THE most popular current Flyer.

Sometimes the intangibles that don’t show up on the stat sheet (even one as decent as TKs) outweigh what IS on the stat sheet.

    I hope he’s a Flyer for life.
