Disclaimer: I didn't see a lot of this game. But the parts I did see (late 1st Period on) it looked like a very un-Florida-like game. Florida got to this point by being brutes. Some of the Ranger rushes in this game it looked like Florida was running an escort service. No forechecking. Not even a bump. Of course there's gonna be some scoring. The whole game looked almost casual – for both teams…IDK… 🫥
Honestly whether Trouba’s chicken wing was 7 or 4 is irrelevant. Florida let’s up a shorty on that kill and had 6 power plays the whole game – if you can’t capitalize on that it’s hard to make the argument that Trouba’s penalty was the make or break of that game
I was at this game and the crowd came to life after the third period comeback. It sucks Florida couldn’t finish it in OT

At first glance, and during the game too, the Trouba hit definitely looked deserving of a major. But there’s a video going around now that shows the backside angle of what actually happens and you can actually see Trouba connecting with the players back, not the head. There may be a little bit of a head swipe kind of thing but most of the hit was back and shoulder. If you haven’t seen the secondary angle going around, please check it out before commenting because before seeing the video, I was shocked it wasn’t a major too. Anyways, either way, Trouba needs to stop doing that crap
This series is proof the hockey gods love to play games with us. The rangers were expected to be the better team on special teams while Florida was expected to be the better 5 v 5 team…we’re now 3 games in and the rangers currently have zero ppg, half of Floridas goals have been through their pp or empty net, and the rangers are up 2-1. This series is really going to come down to goaltending because if it were any other goalies in net the series would average 10 combined goals a game. And because he can perform better when challenged, Igor is going to give the rangers the edge and send them to their first finals as presidents trophy winners since 1994.
You might as well forgo reviewing games 4 and 5 because we already know rangers will kick us to the curb. It wouldn’t make sense reviewing a start to a bye week, would it? That way you get extra rest!
Score one for the Good Guys! The Rangers are hardwired team with that passing back and forth…bbbback and forth. Ancient hockey proverb: You don’t win unless you shoot. It took OT where the Rangers pull their spirit from their body and act like the team that they can be. In the meantime, Igor has to be one of the greatest young bank robbers in the NHL today.

Unfortunately i went to bed at 5pm due to exhaustion. I couldn't stay up. I was up at 4 am plus went MTB riding all day. I did my best but my brain said sleep. Having said that, thanks to Shannon for his channel. Looks like i missed a great game.
I think the Ref thought against calling a penalty on the play, so he just blew the play dead, as some measure of justice…

I'm done with the Stanley Cup playoffs this year. That Trouba hit was 100% predatory. There's too much uncontrolled violence this year that is going unpunished. I love the game, hate the league at the moment. I've been watching hockey now for 53 years and this is the worst example of the NHL trying to emulate the WWE. See you at the draft in June.
There are more Rangers fans living in Florida than there are Florida fans on earth. The southern teams are all an embaressment.
