  1. But, but…… he didn't even manage to get a medal. Sounds so similiar to his NHL career. Just sayin'!

  2. I love Johnny T, but the IIHF tournaments are a whole different animal than the NHL playoffs. That said, I'm really looking forward to seeing the Leafs playing next year with a different style, and a new coach.

  3. Berube is nobody's fool. JT had an off year & still produced 65 pts. He is in a contract year & playing under Berube I think he'll actually bump back up to a PPG guy again. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

He's one of the fittest Leafs & a pro's pro. It's sad how many Leaf fans disrepect him because of his contract. He was never an 11M dollar player, but he's been a credit to the club regardless of what some dolts think.

  4. The world championships and European hockey alone is so different than the NHL so different. Love the content, but you need to understand the difference. More iced alone allows you more time and space with the puck and that’s what we saw more time for him to make plays in which he did and he does because he’s a world-class player still, even if he has a couple steps behind. But that isn’t what playoff Hockey** provides you unfortunately

  5. So far beyond caring what any one of these guys do outside of the nhl playoffs, I wish we could give them all a change of scenery.

  6. I hope it carries over back to NHL… play, international hockey & NHL especially playoff hockey is night & day … I wish Johnny Toronto all the best with the Leafs next season… its contract year so i expect his best hockey … As long as he gives it his all and performs maybe on the wing … I could see JT having a WICKED ….WICKED…. YEAR..!!

  7. Taveras is still a good hockey player with lots of experience . He can still be an asset on a team with young players. Would be a good 3rd or 4th line winger even if he has lost a little speed.

  8. LOL!!! Tavares looked good on bigger ice, with far less talented opposition, in a game where you have a lot more time and space! In the NHL he's just an overpaid guy. Trade the bum if you can. I knew the Leafs would be going nowhere with brad treliving as the GM when he re-signed Nylander to that ridiculous contract. He's just another playoff floater, his points mean very little when he's so unengaged in the play, he's soft on the puck, never in a good defensive position in his own end, gives the puck away all the time. The Leafs are going no where fast..

  9. Comparing IIHF hockey to the NHL playoffs is comparing apples to oranges. Far worse competition and much less physical. I bet Marner would have looked elite lmao

  10. The Leafs NEVER should have acquired John Tavares … doing so put a HUGE kibosh on a masterful rebuilding process that the Hockey Gods favored, created a salary cap juggernaut and cost the franchise a Stanley Cup victory.

  11. Bigger ice which creates more room, weaker competition, not saying much. Hope it creates some interest in him if he is willing to move.
