Is this going to be another person figuring things out as soon as we move on from them?

Of course he’s a better coach after 5 years of experience in the NHL. He will do great there, but even Scotty Bowman had to move on from teams. Coaches have a shelf life.

  3. StrygwyrSuperstar

Learned so much we got bounced approximately 3 weeks ago. He’s a mid coach propped up by elite players nothing to see here

I think this is the first time since Pat Quinn (coaching the Oilers) we’ll be seeing a former Leafs bench boss coach another team (immediately after being fired by the Leafs). Never got the opportunity to follow a former coach in the last few years. Wilson, Carlyle, Horachek and Babcock (LOL) didn’t make it back to the NHL bench.

Really interested in following Keefe and how he does with the Devils.

edit: carlyle went to coach anaheim again. completely forgot about it. lol

Would have been nice if he figured it out after a few years of the same problems.

  6. is this r/devils … why do we care about this anymore

Just another reason why Dubass sucked as a GM. should have hired an experienced coach instead of Keefe. Nothing against Keefe he just wasn’t the right fit for the players we had and where we wanted to be

Jersey will probably make the conference finals next year after knocking Toronto out of the first round.

Sheldon Keefe is a good coach.

It was time for the Toronto Maple Leafs to move on from Sheldon Keefe.

Both things can be (and are) true. Hope he does well in Jersey.

  10. Handing the keys to the Ferrari to young and unproven staff…Dubas and Keefe. Just shocking at the most critical juncture in leafs history in the past 50 years.

Well, I mean, yeah. I suspect both Dubas and Keefe learned from their first head jobs at the NHL level.

It’s why it was strange initially when the Leafs, who do not have an issue with paying staff, went for first timers to begin with.

I mean between year 1 and year 5 he ended up with the same result. So I’m going to call bull

  13. JerkShrimp

I liked Keefe, knew he had to go, and expect him to do well in Jersey.

That said, this statement and is such a self-burn lol

Betting on the devils to win the cup next year is the safest investment anyone could make right now

  15. Hoardzunit

From the “Go have fun” video I don’t think he has.

Fellow degenerates, hammer the Devils puck line vs Toronto all year lads?

I’m learning some things about Chris Johnston. All he really does is repeat what everyone already knows and that really – he knows nothing. He’s a fake.

  19. Dubas fucked us by hiring a first time nhl coach.

He wasted 5 years of this cores time. I wonder what could’ve been if we hired a veteran coach that wasn’t a clown (babcock).

No shade against Keefe I’m assuming he’s the kinda guy you’d crush a flat of beer with and have a great time, and it’s not his fault he got thrown into the position he was in.

But man I do sometimes think what if dubas hired any of the veteran coaches as the replacement for babs and even brought Sheldon on as an assistant.
