Seems like anyone who makes it to the NHL as a coach has a lifetime of job security, no matter how poorly their teams perform. No wonder neither Canada nor the US got a medal from the Worlds, the game is getting really stale with the same coaches swapping jobs with each other.

Would love Kakko on the caps, especially now that Oshie is out all season
They could've made it six nations, adding Central Europe (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) and Eastern Europe (Czechia/Slovakia/Latvia maybe?) and started with a round robin.
Some team should consider giving Jukka Jalonen a shot as a coach.
4 nations just seems to be all about profits
Happy that Bylsma gets another chance. Buffalo got rid of him cause of the pre-madonna, p.o.s. Eichel was given way to much of a say.

These world championship/4 nations tournaments are just cringe. Stanley Cup Playoff is the highest level of competition. We dont need these types of tournaments for sports that have professional leagues established. Even the olympics are much lower tier.

Trouba is a bum. That elbow could have turned out very badly. The fact he only got a minor penalty is outrageous. I know Shannon thinks it’s dumb to get into a fight but I’d love to see him tuned up and bloodied.
It's almost as if you make NHL games available to watch on regular tv more people would watch it…. No one could've known that.
I have two TVs in the living room for just such an occasion. Big screen gets NHL, small screen tonight is Memorial Cup. Earlier it was AHL when my team hadn't choked to the 5th string goalie for Vancouver.
The gambling ads are up over 19 percent for sure. We as a society will see zero repercussions from this, I am sure of it.
Can we just scratch the 4 nations tournament and do a 10 team World Cup of Hockey, including Russia?

The fact that the Oilers are having to even consider the possibility of switching out their starter for a third string minor leaguer at this point in the season as well as the fact that the team all simultaneously went to sleep and blew a lead for like the seven bajillionth time is why, despite being a fan, I simply cannot take this team seriously as any kind of threat to win a cup. Championship caliber teams simply do NOT do that!
They are where they are in this year's playoffs in spite of themselves, not because of themselves.
If anyone deserves to be in the 4 nations tournament, it's Russia.

Would you say Kakko's value right now is about the same as Newhook's value last year? Would the Rangers take a late 1st + early 2nd for him this summer? I guess accruing draft capital wouldn't make that much sense since they're in win now mode, but Colorado did that Newhook trade last year…

why do they still hold international tournaments during the playoffs? no credibility in any of those events at all.
I think Pastrnak's reasoning is pretty frickin assailable. The Men's World's don't measure the best hockey countries in the world, that shouldn't need to be said. I would be annoyed if my country didn't get picked but this was a player driven thing and clearly the four best countries were picked.
