Sidney singlehandedly makes everyone on his team better. There’s very few players in NHL history that has accomplished what he has.
I can guarantee you there won’t be a dry eye in Nova Scotia the day he retires, let alone the city of Pittsburgh.

One quick search on capfriendly will show you that Sid is not “leading the pack” since Ovechkin has made a few million more dollars earned in his contracts. What’s the point in lying about Crosby being “highest paid NHL player” when it’s such a superficial thing to discuss and so easy to fact check to prove wrong? Sillyness.
I have to admit I was taken back by this. For all these years I was under the assumption he was taking hometown cuts and was underpaid in comparison to other players. This makes me happy because he does deserve every penny. I think we all know to that he probably still has 90% or more of that change. I still say give him whatever he wants. Call me nostaglic, he’s still got it and worth the presence in the room for years to come. I know we are bias but I truly think Sid is one of the most respectable, well-behaved examples of someone, anyone would want to represent them or their city. He’s been everything and more he was billed to be. Thank you Sid.
