Hello fellow Red Wings fans!
I’ve never been to Michigan but have been following the Red Wings for most of my life (more religiously at times).
I wanted to share an anecdote with you all that you might enjoy.
About 9 years ago I was working at a job and we had a new guy start who sat behind me. He was a really laidback guy and mentioned that his dad worked for one of our clients when he had to disclose it for conflict-of-interest reasons. I think it was about 3 weeks in we asked him “so what does your dad do for them?”
“Oh he’s the CEO…”
Okay, sir.
It was about a month and a half in when we decided to take him out to a belated welcome lunch at a local taqueria. He was a margarita in when he mentioned that his uncle is a hockey player.
My ears perked up immediately and I asked “is it anyone I might know?”
“He said have you heard of……”

Buddy nonchalantly mentions his uncle’s a hockey player and it’s Steve fucking Yzerman lol awesome
Of course Steve Y’s relative is as as down to earth as he is.
On another note, heard a story from a Blues fan who described the shot from the blueline from his perspective, interesting to hear the other side haha.
Great story and picture. Love the old Easton gear too, Silk has it all but the bucket there.
That’s awesome! Hopefully you can make it to Michigan one day and travel around and see what we have to offer…and also see a Wings game.
