Preston Jacobson had two extra base hits, helping Utah Yard Dawgs 9U to a 7-6 victory over DC Sox on Thursday at Southridge.
He homered in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.
Preston got the win for Utah Yard Dawgs 9U. He tossed one-third of an inning of shutout ball. Preston struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.
Utah Yard Dawgs 9U was sparked by Preston and Hunter Gatti, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.
The top of the first saw DC Sox take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Porter, bringing home Noah and Daxton started the inning off. DC Sox then tacked on more runs when Porter scored on an RBI single by Dax.
It didn’t take long for Utah Yard Dawgs 9U to respond as it scored one run of its own in the third. Utah Yard Dawgs 9U scored on an RBI double by Preston .
Utah Yard Dawgs 9U never trailed after scoring four runs in the fourth on a two-run double by Hunter and a two-run home run by Tegan Melanson.
