The Bruins have a DIFFICULT offseason ahead…

what’s going on Bruins fans this video is not going to be really heavily edited I’m going to show you a little little Tour by the water here right here the Cape Cod Canal coming live or recorded wherever you watch this um what’s going on boys um main thing you want to kind of do as a Bruins fan is buckle up baby because uh I might have some hot takes for you you agree with you disagree with and we will find out all right so I’ll be doing a collaboration with lowquality Bruins fan he’s a fantastic Creator um I just like giving him shout outs so I’ll put him as the link Down Below in the description so if he’s um if you watch Bruins content he’s definitely the guy I think he’s actually the best Bruins content creator on the platform personally uh highly entertaining and I enjoy his videos um I want to talk about a few things kind of in short so Jeremy Swan coming up for RFA and there’s some interesting discussions I’m seeing in Bruins like fan groups and boards and stuff you know some people want to keep olark some people want to get rid of olark uh some people are trying to say that Jeremy San won’t be worth more than 7 mil and so on the Jeremy Swan thing the RFA I think while I don’t ideally you don’t want to pick pay too much for a goenda to ask towards the top end of the market in price because he has performed like a top end of the market goalie now you could argue he split a lot of games with allmark he’s benefited from that but this last postseason run has shown you he has the ability to kind of level up his game play at this alltime level and for me this is how I look at it I think if you could get Swan at 7.5 I wouldn’t like this but even 8 million and you lock them up for the long term while the salary cap keeps creeping up uh the deal makes a lot of sense it does by the way apologies if this is dark I can’t tell because it’s so much glare in this uh the Wheelhouse but you know I don’t I don’t know exactly some of the I get some of the skepticism of giving a go tender so much money but I think with swayman he’s proven time and time again that he’s worth that money I mean why I mean omark’s older and it’s not like he’s ancient he still has quite a bit years left in his prime especially for a goalie but wouldn’t you rather lock in a guy like San at a certain price point now where you expect the salary cap to keep going up over the years so the deal would just look better and better as time goes on I mean is there a possibility Who falls completely off the map and it’s terrible and it turns into an albatra I mean absolutely do I think that happens no he’s shown progression every single year he has shown the ability to bounce back he has the proper mentality to be a starter in this league while it would be great to keep olark uh I think it would be probably be in the best interest of the Bruins to deal olark so you can open up a little bit more cap and maybe make a few more moves now the Bruins are going to have a lot of interesting contract conversations uh and that will be going into my next subject Jake de bruss but to kind of round it out I think you pay Swan while some fans might not like it I think 7.5 to 8 million at a long-term contract like with a longterm on the deal a lot of years makes sense is it ideal no but we have to get out of this mindset that every single Bruins player is going to take discounts like berson and Marshon did in their Prime that’s just that’s unusual that’s not it’s not standard practice because bers and Mar they could have cashed in and they didn’t they took team Friendly Deals he’d like Swingman to do so but after the last RFA negotiations I can understand his mentality like no I’m going to lock in I’m GNA lock in as much money as I Poss again Jake de brusk I like Jake de brusk I liked him in this playoff run but Jake debrusk is a player that you can’t you can’t overpay Jake D Brusque I think it would be a mistake to pay him over 5 million I do and I don’t know what debrus is asking I think for what he is he’s he should be a top six Winger if if de brus played like he did in the playoffs and when he’s fully like when he’s fully like cooking he’s amazing and not every single player is consistent NHL there’s going to be some you know there’s going to be some stretches where you just you have downturns and that’s just that’s natural right you’re not going to be perfect every single game you’re not going to be perfect to full 82 but debrus is just his inconsistency is maddening and I don’t think you can afford to pay him uh much more than that because at that point you’re investing into a player again more on potential than actual output and I think the brusk is going to be one of these Players He’ll have some years that maybe he even flirts with 30 goals but I think he’s going to constantly be up and down cuz at this point in his career that’s what he is and there’s nothing wrong with that I think the brusk would be a fine uh second line Winger you know um I think he’s fine in that role but once you start paying him more than I think around five you know kind of looking around the league and the market like can you find maybe somebody that gives you similar production for cheaper so with Jake de Brusque I’d love to have him back but I’d like to have him back at like a reasonable price point and a lot of these players I’m going to be going into more detailed uh with low quality Bruins fan but just to kind of give a quick summary like grizzli I think he’s gone Dan Heinen I’d like to see them retain because I thought he did really well this year he’s you want to you you don’t want to dump a huge amount of money at him but the dude’s an effective bottom six guy he was really good in that third line role and you know it’s going to be interesting to going forward modering what the Bruins do but um I think Jeremy swan has proven to be the guy I think Len hmark depending you know I would not be shocked if they’re both back next year I think if you’re going to trade allmark it would have been last year you have one year left on his deal maybe a team will pull the trigger because they’re like okay one year at five maybe that would make sense I think if you could move olark for some prospects and picks you should I’m not saying you’re going to get a first round pick because goalies usually don’t get that in value but I would not be shocked if olark is back and they have another great Tandem and maybe with some of the Caps like forward uh shadon Kirk jvr I’m doing this all top of my head uh like I said grizzli you have a lot of people coming off the books you’re going to have money to play with and hopefully beinging bring in um a first line center it’s it going to be an elite level first line Center I mean I don’t really see that happening unless they kind of deal for one uh and then you’re going to have to give up quite a bit but uh Bruin should be in a situation be the perfect situation to get a lot better uh and improve upon this year so but I’d like to know your thoughts Down Below in the comment section what would you pay Jeremy Swan what would you do for term and uh what would you think about all the other free agents on the Bruins this year uh try a little different look at this man look look at this look at this weather look at this beautiful weather today look at this [ __ ] come on waiting waiting for waiting for the boat waiting for the boat waitting for the boat there it is there it is there it is so all right boys and girls I’ll see you in the next one

The Boston Bruins will have a difficult offseason ahead of them with UFA and RFA decisions. What should the cap hit be for Jeremy Swayman? Should Jake DeBrusk be retained? What other Bruins Free Agent should be retained? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section!

  1. Yeah there is a lot of difficult stuff the Bruins have this off season but they do have 20 million+ in cap space unlike last season where they were the complete opposite. Practically over the cap and had no money to resign much and all that. So they likely will be even better next season. Since as long as they don't go into that back corner like they did in their historic season then adding two very good key pieces at the deadline so they had no cap. As long as they don't replicate that for a while they will be sticking around and being this good for a while. They have 20 million in cap space as well as the cap going up next season. So they can add and resign this summer then once the cap goes up then they can add even more.

  2. Im thinkin a 3-way trade possibly for example to clear Ullmarks contract space, as its redumdant to have 2 Starter Goalies eatiing a large cap hit when they need a Top Line Center thats face off dominant.

For example Canes trade (Neccas to Van.), Van. Trades (picks + Lindholm equivalent to Bos). Bruins Trades ( Ullmark to Car.), Car. Trades Lesser Picks to Bos. to complete the Trade. [….maybe something like that, some high end young talents to pick up + Picks]

Seems like that could benefit everyone all the way around.

  3. The Rask deal was 7×7. Swayman is probably getting 8×8.

Let Debrusk walk. Someone will overpay, and I feel like he wants out. If Swayman is going to be too rich, sign and trade him. Obviously, that isn't ideal.
