We’re on the verge of an important Flyers offseason, Danny Briere’s second as GM. While trades can be made now, we’re about a month away from the true beginning of the busy season, with the draft at the end of June and free agency beginning July 1.
And the biggest piece of business the Flyers will handle on July 1 is Travis Konecny, who will officially be eligible for a contract extension at the onset of the new league year.
Should the Flyers immediately re-sign TK? Should they wait? Is it a good idea to keep him at all, or should they trade him while his value is high?

Hey PHLY gt a Mailbag question for ya's : Is it an option to move Foerster to Center? I thought he played there in juniors, He could learn the role/faceoffs from Couts….?
Opinion. Konecny could still be a good player by the time he is in his 30s, but the point is that it’s not very likely. This becomes a little more apparent when looking at which players at that age are good and which ones are not. Unfortunately, Konecny falls in the latter category.

Danny and Keith must do whatever is best for the organization. The Rebuild has many legs. They have the information, which we do not have. Organization must come first.
No more 8-year contracts that end when players will end up in their mid-30s as we have seen too many of those!!! I don't mind 8-year contracts to players whose prime years are at least 5/8 years and in hockey most players dip from their prime at age 30!!! Please learn from history!!! Given his age and where we are in our timeline I feel we will get the best value trading him this summer since he has a full season at a very attractive 5.5m/year for a contending team!!!
