In 5 full seasons with the Canes, Necas has 96 goals. That is not a 7-8 million a year guy. 6, ok. My two cents anyway. 🤷🤷🏒🏒

Matheson is a top 10 offensive D man, on a good contract, from Montreal. Keep him!
Necas is a good all round player, second line potential, even though he is 25 and could not muscle his way into the top lines in Carolina.
The risk is paying too much. Carolina can't afford him. Can the Habs? Carolina needs cheap good young players like Struble or Harris.
They have at least 5 great players to sign and give raises to…tough going there.
No on the price for the cans!! For a player the cans don't want… a player that's not gunna stay, a player who got beat out by the Russian …?

necas is a guy who'll score 50-60 points on the second line. if the habs are going to get him, let's not pay more than he's worth, either in assets in trade or in dollars in salary. i'd give him the 5.5 anderson is making and as for acquiring him, 26 and harris is probably more than enough. let's not fool ourselves into thinking he's worth 7-8m, or worth sending a guy like mailloux or hutson for.
why in god's name would we take kotkaniemi back? he's already failed here. we have a 3rd line center making 4m+ already in dvorak, and we want rid of him too. this is nothing but a waste of money. there is no reason to do this. if the ask for necas is unreasonable without taking this anchor of a contract, then walk away. kotkaniemi won't be happy here, and he won't be productive either. this is one of the dumbest ideas i've ever heard. kotkaniemi should go to a team like the blackhawks or sharks, where he'll be given more opportunity and his cap hit doesn't matter. but the habs have seen this movie before. not only no, but hell no. how desperate do you think we are?
