  1. Noooooo kids boring, Parekh showed him up two nights ago. Couldnt make a stretch pass and is left side D.

  2. My rankings:
    1) Celebrini
    2) Levshunov
    3) Demidov
    4) Lindstrom
    5) Dickinson
    6) Biuim
    7) Iginla
    8) Catton
    9) Parekh
    10) Silayev

  3. Great pod, guys, love the idea. And I'd be happy with Dickinson, a Sandy 2.0 for the rest of the decade as LD2 as we phase Chabot out.
But I respectfully disagree with the options. You should have just assumed the likelihood that the Sens are taking a D here — the odds and logic of it are overwhelming unless the superstar Russian drops to us. And included Buium and especially Yakemchuk. With the Calgary RD, then we would have had a clearer indication of the fanbase's tolerance for a left shot with this pick.
There is no doubt in my mind they have considered, and may still be considering, Yakemchuk. The package is compelling despite the warts.

  4. Here's one scenario I like in favour of Silyev. We already know Sandy is an elite shut-down LD capable of neutralizing, to the greatest extent possible, the league's superstars. But he's just one guy. Imagine having this 6-7 freak who can skate like the wind and has a mean streak on the next shift. Imagine how effective that would be vs.a team like the Oilers with two elite centres.
The Sens would drive teams nuts trying to avoid our guys.
All we'd need is two reasonably competent top four RDs and a decent journeyman partner for Kleven on the third pair. There is definitely one if not two RDs like that available with our next two picks.
I doubt he's available at 7 but I hope we go for him. I just don't know if we have the scouting chops to do proper research on the guy.

  5. It would have been interesting to see how the vote for the Sens pick would have gone if Yakemchuk had been included. A lot of Sens seem to like him.

  6. Left D? please no. come. At this point, they should just make an entire team made up of left D-Men. Jeez.

  7. Wouldn't be mad with a Dickinson pick.. but also wouldn't be overly excited about it either because it doesn't fill the biggest holes for this roster

  8. One my podcast idea for summer sometime!

I’d love you guys to do a pod on new arena locations. Evaluating some of the locations that are suggested in media and which one or ones you guys think is the best. As a non-Ottawa native, I don’t know much about the city so I’d love to hear your guys take on it. Would love to hear from Martian too!

  9. I completely disagree, the Ottawa Senators should take the best player available who also fills their biggest need & that is Carter Yakemchuk RD. Big tough hard hitting good skating offensive RD who ticks off almost every box. Dickinson is going to be a good defenceman, but he is not better than Yakemchuk ,but they are much closer than you have given him credit for. I expect this management team to select the RD.
