Brandon Carlo Flies In After Birth of Son, Scores in Game 1 for Bruins

Tik Tok of how everything happened and when it happened and yeah uh yeah for sure uh so after game seven um I was talking to Dusty and he was in Communications with my wife and uh she had gone to the hospital at that point to uh you know get the process going with the baby and so I met her over there um took the day um nothing really transpired and then um throughout the day um we ended up going through the whole process and uh was fortunate enough to have a nice healthy baby boy at uh around 3:00 last night um so so thankful so proud of my wife as well um and then yeah just hopped on a plane at 2:00 um I’m really thankful for the Bruins uh the Jacobs as well for how they handled the situation SS everybody um it was incredible the the support that they gave me and um enabled me to get down here as fast as possible definitely wanted to play and I’m very happy I did so um great 24 hours and uh a lot of fun how much were you running just on pure adrenaline there tonight uh for sure um I kind of got my best amount of sleep on the plane ride down here uh thankful for the pregame nap but um no yeah I mean from game seven as well uh you know just just the what all that transpire in that game uh the emotions were high and then moving forward um coming down here knowing that we had to kind of regroup and uh settle ourselves down to play this game tonight and I felt like we did a good job of that Brandon is this something will you did you get the p Puck and will you give that puck to your son someday and and in your mind do you thought it all about what you might tell him about what this 24 hours was like yeah I haven’t even thought about that yet um but definitely a 24 hours that I won’t forget uh I don’t know I think pasta might have skated over and grabbed that puck for me that would be pretty special to have for sure um I don’t score very often so uh very cool experience for me and uh you know there was a part uh played there by God so very thankful Brandon so was there any chance that the process could have gone into today and and for sure for sure um yeah we sped it up as fast as we could we were flipping her around putting her upside down whatever we could do to get that baby out of there and uh so yeah it was uh it was great cuz last night we um finally fell asleep for like an hour the the doctor came in and said all right let’s get this process going uh he popped out about 30 minutes later so um yeah to see his uh his face and then just have a healthy wife and healthy baby uh I couldn’t be more happy going to congrats if you could take you through your goal it seemed like you um kind of were patient saw an opening uh and how important was it to get that goal at the end of the period because those the kind of back Breakers yeah for sure um I saw the play transpiring uh Freddy did a fantastic job winning that foot race um CCE got the puck and I saw a lot of open Ice in the middle so just tried to fill that pocket and uh he got his eyes up saw me uh caught it and shot it um you know we worked on that kind of play a a lot in practice as defenseman and um coming through the neutral zone or through the through the middle of the Zone like that and uh I was able to see that pocket kind of the in the top right um and thankful to to put it in the right spot um and yeah it was uh it was a good good goal moving forward um for the momentum of the game for sure and um from there I feel like our team did a good job continuing to push um and not sitting back on our heels

Carlo missed the morning skate on Monday because he was at home in Boston as his wife gave birth to the couple’s second child. He landed in Fort Lauderdale in the evening, played and scored to make it 3-1 going into the third.

Florida beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in 5 to open the playoffs.

Boston advanced to the second round with a 2-1 overtime win Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7.

The Panthers beat the Bruins in Game 7 of last year’s first round; Boston is 4-0 against the Panthers this regular season and has held them scoreless on the power play.

Florida opened the scoring on a goal from Matthew Tkachuk, but the Bruins closed with three goals to end the second; it added two more in the third to break things wide open.
