I have been enjoying watching NHL playoffs, but I also enjoy watching streams of fighting game community (FGC) tournaments for fighting games (ie. Tekken, Street Fighter, etc.)
Their tournaments have a double elimination format where the losers of the 1st rounds of tournaments play each other on the losers side while the winners proceed as usual.
At the end, it will be the winner on the winners side versus the winner on the losers side facing off against each other in the losers side.
I was wondering if NHL fans would be interested in this kind of playoff format for NHL.
Ex: losers of quarterfinals (1st round of playoffs) play each other. The winner of losers final will face off against winner on winners side for Stanley cup.
